Hi Akt,

I just want to start some discussion about the overshoots. When the price go over the zone, but the zone still holds. I found this example today:

I started to investigate, what caused the price to stop. Nothing found on H1. And finally found the suspect on the M30 timeframe (which offered a perfect zone).

I think it's important question on the stop-loss. I always place my stop-loss over the zone. BUT sometimes I dont know how far, or how to measure? Have you got a rule for that? Or it doesnt matter to consider it?

What do you think my fellow traders?

And finally a nasty example : SP500 not long ago (far,far away in the galaxy...)

You just found the concept of "refining" within the methodology.
I actually just recently went over this with one of my trader friends whilst discussing the methodology with him.
And you are absolutely correct, it is critical for stop placement.

Please note that you can also refine too much. It is usually more than enough to go down just one time frame to look more closely at your chosen zone.

Does that still qualify as a demand zone even though it did not take out the earlier supply (highest point on the chart)?
I see however that it did break the momentum trend line. Does it only need to meet one or the other criteria rather than both?

Hello Akt, learning a lot from you. I have a question regarding GBP/USD. I have marked the zone with red circle.
Another question is why the target on the recent gbp/usd trade was the place you marked on the screen shot.
And the last question regarding kunzerk's question on overshooting the zone. You are telling that one should refine the zone on a LTF, but even if that zone is refined on LTF the highest point of that base will not change, so SL would be above it anyway? So are the overshoots expected to happen sometimes?

Hello bodring. Nice to meet you.

Regarding the concept of "Refining".
Step 1 - identify the zone you want to buy or sell at (on the entry time frame chart)
Step 2 - Go down one time frame lower to take a closer look at the zone.
Step 3 - where possible, and if necessary, "refine the distal line (and occasionally, the proximal line) to pinpoint where the move actually started from.
Step 3 - Stops go below the origin of the move, below the distal line

Please note, refining a zone must by definition make the zone a bit wider. Better wider than see the trade stopped out only to go as expected.

Kunzerk showed a great pictorial in his post of an example of refining.

Ya, I should keep my eye on a daily. I like action which may be my downfall. My ultimate goal would be scalping H4 zones. I really don't want to be in trades that long and limit my exposure. This was completely my fault I should of got out at the nearest zone take my profit and look for the next opportunity. I know it may be alot of work but I would like my higher timeframe to be H4 and possibly Daily. I'm not really concerned with a weekly or monthly because I plan on getting in and out within 15 min to a couple hours.

how many charts ?
what is your own preferred sequence now?
I think I've noticed mostly theres a 3 chart ,but then the we must wait for a signal PA ? on the highest for permission to trade that direction ?then lower tf?

Hello Bones, and welcome.
Thank you for the question.

It's a very personal decision each trader has to make.

A lot for the trader to take into consideration before even opening a chart.

What stage is the trader at in his or her life socially, financially etc.
If you are young and single, looking for a mate, socializing and the like, the trader will not have much of a chance to sit in front of a screen for hours day trading,,,,, he has got bigger fish to fry dating etc.
It sounds facetious but it is very important.
Unless the trader is ready to sacrifice a large chunk of his/her social life it will be a struggle balancing both sides.

If the trader is in a day job, got a small family, little kids, a wife who knows little about trading, etc, it is going to be challenging again sitting in front of screens being a day trader when little johnny wants a diaper changed and the Mrs is giving the eye or is just caught up with other things.

You get the point.

Each trader must first evaluate their situation and decide

In terms of how many charts, to start with, ideally no more than 4 (3 is even better). There are many moving parts so simple is best

I primarily trade the M-W-D time sequence. I am not averse to day trading but only when i have the time.

Supply and demand is just that, If a trader decides to include price action in that decision making process then he/she must have rules around that. The core foundation must always be supply and demand zones

Where am I?
How did i get here?
Where do i get in?

Those are the 3 questions a S.A.D puts to the charts.

Your time sequence will depend on whether your a position , swing , or day trader. You find your curve on highest timeframe and look for entries on lowest timeframe in sequence. The middle timeframe isn't necessary if your already high or low in the curve. Hope that helps.
