A No Demand can be a DOWN bar on volume less than the previous two bars if it is making a higher high than the previous bar.
well, thank you! just what I needed, higher high - probe up, got it!!
Also, the bar being down reminds me of a post by pres(78), a no-demand & confirmation all in one.
The fact that a no-demand should close up but closed down instead shows how bearish the market is, i mean it is more bearish than an up bar ND.
I think the difference between a down ND & a hidden upthrust would be the volume, since upthrusts are designed to catch stops, the volume should be increased.
in the above chart the bar before the ND is an upbar, but only if the close would of been further up, say on the high, that would of make it a proper ND, I wouldn't mind the bar makin a lower low.

WOW! Some serious volume on a down bar. Strength, when it appears, usually appears on DOWN bars. Would you be thinking of taking the money and running? Why or Why not? {image}
It was quite difficult for me a year back to not to have such fixations, like "Strength usually appears on DOWN bars" & "a down bar narrow spread & if the volume is less than previous two bars it is a test".
That down bar imo is an effort to fall (gotcha!).
There's swing low on the left, it would require huge effort to push below that support & we can see that effort there, that's not bullish.
Also I've noticed none of the bars have moved above & closed above the close of that down bar.
The behaviour hasn't changed convincingly, trend is still down.

someone have any idea whats goind on here on those 5 min bars? its almost impossible volume... without any result. i saw the price tremble a lot on one of the bars like not more than pip down then goes up a bit, down again and so on. i guess the same thing happened to other bars, but what that means? and it seems this way someone can manipulate the volume value quite a lot... it is unreadable.
