This smash on retail sales can only fuel further. And continued support for Bremain too. Is JPY the best currency to long GBP against though? maybe AUD and NZD also come into the picture???

Bremain ? If that's a reference to Britain remaining in EU- the polls said 55% out and 33% in ?

Never traded AUD and NZD before man, I probably picked the wrong time to trade GBPJPY, this is for me testing the water tbh. I am fed up with the lack of volatility of EURUSD and started looking elsewhere. Not easy neither.. Let me know when you see a trade set up with AUD and NZD please, I will start looking at the charts of them and try to get a feeling how PA acts.

Hey Don, I think you'll find you've got those numbers the wrong way around. There is a lot of movement in what these polls say, though, but they seem to consistently give remain a slender lead. And this is what is largely fueling the GBP up move. It can change very quickly though, as we know. try keep an eye on the Ipsos Mori polls, as those seem to be the most reliable.

Trading any GBP is tough atm, with Brexit in the equation. I mean, against AUD its rallied 2000 pips of late. gotta be a top somewhere, ya'd think. One should be able to see that forming in the chart though, coz it wont just turn around abruptly when it does. Will need to see a slowing of buying, and then the sellers moving in after that

Yeah I thought they seemed wrong - that's why I put a ? at the end of the sentence cheers for the correction - I hope the numbers change and we leave tbh

But then come referendum time, close all positions either way? I can imagine price becoming very volatile weeks and days ahead being influenced more by polls and bookie odds than actual fundamentals.

You're right, Don did have the numbers the wrong way round and it was an Ipsos/Mori poll for the Evening Standard which gave those results - 55% in v 33% Out - explaining part of the move in the GBP yesterday.

s&p and dow futures on the edge again. oil still lower on the strong usd, brent may find support 47.35 ish(guess).. i missed 56.22 so far
