Getting better through adequate education, skills development, sound planning and adequate preparation before going to the actual arena of work. what helped me was trying to give investment advice to some friends ... that got me much more disicplined and structured in my approach

Cvds, helping people really pays. And in fact by teaching trading we learn to be better traders. I joined FF in December 2015 after visiting the Forum for a few years. Even though I started trading in 2011 and burned a few live accounts, in the last 24 months I have learnt many things about trading Forex the right way. Lol

You know, the best way to really absorb knowledge is by teaching that knowledge to others.

You can only pass on knowledge, teach effectively, if you have a passion for your subject, what ever it might be.

It's by going through this teaching process that we, not only, discover our limitations but also what it will take to remove those limitations.

So, in order to gain knowledge we need to be prepared to impart our knowledge to others.

Early in the year I made a serious mistake in my trading and nearly blew up one of my three micro live accounts. Through careful attention to PA I did manage to rescue the account but the account suffered a big dose of loss. My attention now is to carefully build the account to the level it was. This has made me become more careful regarding taking trades. What about you, do you have any lesson to share with fellow FF members? Share it here.

well it helps if you can develop some feeling for what is cheap and what is expensive ... I am able to say that pretty much about the stock markets ... no magic trick but it helps you to guide your eye in the right direction on the charts ... I however lack that feeling totally when it comes to silver or gold ... but I do know some people who are knowledgeable about those fundies, so I read them somewhat 'lightly' ...
In forex I can get no grasp on fundies so I totally stopped trading that, most likely my technical trading would just work there just as fine ... but life is too short to try to trade everything under the sun ... no point being jack of all trades and master on none ...

Agreed! No point being a jack of all trades, you must master the pairs you trade. I run away from trading oil and gold; I lost a lot from trading them a few years back. Green pips to you.

yeah, oil and gold can be reallly brutal ... I found out for gold you best use weekly charts or else base your trades through correlation on the smaller charts of silver ... but then you might just as well trade silver :-) ... oil is totally crazy though ... you can see structure at times but it's not tradeable for what I do now: swingtrading ... so I try to stay as far away as possible ... I am not anymore in the business of giving money away for a cheap adrenaline rush ... ;-)

Good to know that you swing trade! I am perfecting my swing trading system; although I made some loss earlier this year, everything is taking shape now. In fact, the losses I made were part of experimenting my techniques and good for building confidence in my system. Lol
