Trade at home or at the office?

I thought all forexfactory members trade from home.

I've just created a new thread, looking to create a real trading office.

I like to trade at home . I do trading as a part time work . After my regular job when I am free I try trading I also see my trades in office on my smart phone if positions are open so that I can close them at proper market position. I do not want to mix office work and forex , That is why I do trading alone at home.

Consider it's not a big difference in location when I need to trade. I probably don't have a choice about it. My strategy is pointing me a trading time no matter I locate at the moment

I solved this one by building an office in the garden...best of both worlds

Like many have said here, the location doesn't really matter but your concentration. It is true a place can definitely contribute to how well you focus, but that doesn't warrant spending useful funds that could be better used in forex for building an office.
Except you have other agenda or plan for such, like other forms of business you would like to engage in. Or you would want to be an IB or join in the whitelabel program for a broker!

I have been trading full time for about 3 years now and have thought often about this very topic. I have only up to this point traded from home. Often considered trading from an office. Best advice I can give is, if you are trading from home, when your done leave that space. Too often in the beginning I would spend way too much time in my home office. Not until I learned to shut off the charts and forget FOREX for the rest of my day did it really become bearable.

I traded part time at first at home and then switched to full time, also at home. The problem with trading at home is that everything is flexible such as work time, leisure, etc and you can allocate your time freely. I enjoyed it at first but over the long them it's hard to be disciplined all the time and boredom also kicked in. Then I joined a trading group and some of its members traded in a prop shop and then I joined them, so I began trading in an office with other traders. My discipline becomes much better and the good thing is about the interaction with other traders. I can observe real time how other people trade. Not everyone in my group is profitable but at least you can discuss and/or sometimes share trade ideas with each other. Some traders in my group are indeed quite profitable and since you get to see them in persons, it also inspires and motivates me to work harder as I can see that it can be done.

I mostly do trading at home . I am doing it as part time . Some times I monitor my trades in office on my mobile phone if positions are open . We can choose any place where feel comfortable having good attention towards trades . Main theme is to make good performance it can be occur at your desired place.
