Why don't you try trading only on demo and when you start doing well, you may think of investing real money.

This post I hope reaches out to those that are on contemplating on quitting the markets, Dont. You started for a reason, dont give up on that reason and embrace the difficult times the market has in store for you. Like Winston Churchill once said, Success is walking from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm. You are working on developing a set of skills that may take you 5 years to become proficient in that will generate you income for the next 50 years. If you ever feel like quitting, reach out to me. Lets talk. I know that feeling.
you get what you put in. The longer you stay the closer you'll be in making it. Why quit now ? you have not failed until you quit. Good to see some encouragement !and here goes the usual passerby's spitting their pessimism

I have been trading for 3 years now, mainly Forex, always on a live account. One of those $50 FXCM accounts, tried to get it up using only 1k lots and 3 pip take profits. It took me 3 months.. then it all faded back to $50 and currently sits at $47.
That's not what's getting to me..
Recently (at the start of the year) I applied for a role at a prop firm in Australia, the firm specializes in futures and mainly focuses on STIR futures. They have dozens of applicants but only a few get a shot at the trial and then even fewer get an interview.
I was lucky enough to get a 1 month trial with them. I worked very hard for that 1 month, took all my annual leave so that I could trade 20 hours a day and work out differences in the different markets. I managed to pick up spreading in about 2 weeks with the right software.
After all that I was given a shot at an interview. They said that I had what it takes, that I had the focus and the skills to continue trading professionally. Then they asked if I had any savings to subsidize my lifestyle while I was trading their SIM before going live (sort of like an internship). I did not, so as good business goes, I was obviously a bad investment.
And then it all went wrong... I had based my entire winning strategy on spreading, trading the differential in the 10:10 spread. No longer having access to the same software and being unable to find it anywhere, my strategy has gone to shambles and so too has my overall confidence that I have what it takes to make it.
attached is a spread chart that is the center point of my strategy. 
.....does anyone know where I can get spread charting from? I tried a number of sites, including tradingview but all require big bucks.

After almost 9 years trading exclusively forex ( mainly EUR/USD) I decided moving to other markets.
lack of volatility is the reason !!
EUR/USD used to move 160, 180, 200 pips a day consistently. Now its more like 50 or 60 pips a day with a crazy 400 spike once in a while.
It forces you to risk more money to compensate for the lack of moves. Not worth it in my opinion.
I still trade forex but now long term with smaller positions for a longer period of time.
Thank God for the diversity of markets out there !! I leave short term forex for the Quants
