Learning?...agree, I have 15 years experience...blew one full account a long time ago...took me another a decade just to break even...now its just fun making $...and please believe me the game is rigged.

Okay then you traders who swear blind that the markets are rigged...let's see some of your evidence, and posting shots of single fakes which can usually be read pretty well anyway, will not do.

You mean you let the price run for a hundred pips or so and then scalp the two or three on the bounce at the end. You must be joking.

Your credibility just flew out of the window, so why should anyone believe you.

Perhaps you should stop treating it as a game and have more respect for the profession.

Who are these people doing the so called rigging and how on earth do they single you out amidst the millions, do you leave a bad scent or something they can track.

Sorry, but will this constitute as evidence? This was provided in the first few pages of your thread.

But the bottomline is it should be irrelevant - the market has always been rigged. That doesn't mean no one is making money other than those rigging it. Cornering the market was much easier earlier and has been around since the days of Livermore ...only nowadays, with so many players, some amount of collusion between big players is necessary to actually rig the market.

So when the price was going down it was actually going up and when it was going up it was actually going down and when it was only half way up it was neither up nor down.

The forex is certainly manipulated, but I don't know what rigged means. Rigged meaning that a bunch of bank insiders are working together to move it to and from predetermined levels? That is not how it works. It's what happens, but not how it works. And manipulation happens on a much larger level than the banks.

Agreed. Basically, tomaYtoes...tomaAtoes. Call what you may, it is at times manipulated at times not. In fact, I would go further to suggest that ONE of the reason why TA works is to some extent because of manipulation. People know what other people are expecting. If you have the information and money to know otherwise, why not feed fuel to the fire only to douse it at the right moment? And what's stopping you from bringing your friends to the party? Now whether you call that manipulation, rigging, stop loss hunting, or simply great trading is your call.

Hi mitrapips. I want to be clear about what I mean, and I do not mean this. I do not believe in stop hunting, or other such actions that would mean that one group of traders is faking out another group of traders. I do not believe that is what is going on. Professional traders view chart PA as communications, not fakery or rigging. The idea is to follow the conversation as it unfolds, which we view as trading. TA helps measure tendencies, patterns and intent. The charts are talking to you, and you are supposed to listen dispassionately to the conversation. Manipulation occurs when a big boy changes the story, which can be exciting, indeed.

With respect, it is still your belief. And I have absolutely no issues with that. Can you show me a single article that corroborates your belief (other than entire threads in ff devoted to this very issue)? Yet, I can provide countless documented evidence of market manipulation. I apologize to all the people who have made really great, informative and constructive comments on this thread. I apologize for allowing myself to be drawn into the ridiculous debate about whether the markets are rigged somehow in favour of an invisible elite who sit there day after day watching us trade and hunting down our stops. I have started other threads, all of which I believe to have been helpful to others, but unfortunately in all of them there have been the posters who come along to tell everybody that it's impossible to make money because of this spectre that lurks to confound us at every opportunity. I wish to put an end to this now on this thread, and any further comments regarding rigged markets will not be welcome, as they are, in my opinion, not only nonsense, but unhelpful and frivolous.

What i do welcome, as I'm sure everyone else will, is a constructive discussion which throws light on such things as ' fake ' moves, which we all know happen regularly and which can catch people out if they are unaware of where these sudden moves against momentum are most likely to happen. These volatile moves usually only happen once or twice in any one move, and for a good % of the time they can be anticipated if you know where to expect them. These have nothing to do with ' rigging ', for if some entity really wanted to stop a lot of people out, it/they would wait until momentum had been established, and then put in an adverse move 100 pips the other way killing everybody in the move off...but this never happens unless it's a major news release or something similar.

I would be more than happy to post a few charts showing typical areas where these relatively small ' fakes ' can be expected to occur, because they can stop you out if your entry is poor, and I encourage anyone to do the same.

As for the pointless rigged market/ everybody ultimately loses poster, their vacuous negativity is no longer welcome on this thread.

I am not sure if the OPs last post was directed at people like me but I assumed the OP was interested in evidence so I cited something to which I got no sensible response. Sorry if that did not suit the OPs palate. I had no intention of being rude or anything. Also, I never suggested one cannot make money in this market because of rigging. I have repeatedly said manipulation or not you can make money. In fact, manipulation can be your friend if you have seen the game long enough. Finally, the fake spikes by themselves are never a sign of manipulation. They occur due to an imbalance of orders or due to low liquidity. These can be completely organic or created artificially. Anyway, to each his own, green pips guys.

You made it look like it's a regular practice, which is not according to the evidence you posted.
