thank you sir
firstly i was trying to learn algo and quant trading independently from one of the thread you started but thn i found myself at
starting level and i am not finding a starting point
then i am starting to explore the pages and come to elliot wave pics

so overall w am confused with too many strategies these days
and i am not finding where to start with any strategy which is either indicator basis or grid basis

Hi Vimal,

since I do not exactly know what you do know about trading and its techniques, I tell you simply how I would start when I would start trading anew:

a) learn all you can find about support/resistance, supply/demand or whatever the people call it

With that, you will lay a strong foundation

b) try to get the basics of Elliott Wave - it will help a lot in determining the directions

c) forget about indicator based trading; nearly all indicators are a derivative of price, but you have already the price on your chart. When you have mastered the a) and b), you may use a momentum indicator for timing purpose or to judge the waves

d) forget about quant trading for a very long time. Your brain is so much stronger than any program you can write. Although I find Quants very interesting (from an intellectual challenging perspective), I would never ever give trading decisions away to a computer program

e) try to understand what most of the traders are doing (trend following). Read all about Sentiment and Contrarian Trading.

My Quant Trading Thread was not designed to give special guidance, it was simply thought to be kind of a repositorium for interesting articles, opinions etc.
