I don't know about Hillary having someone pass out chocolate. But something I've been thinking about for a long time (basically since I started thinking about the meaning of and possible reasons for the monthly engulfing bar last April) is the Fed and the presidential race. Of course all the members of the Fed have to be professional and do what they see as their professional duty. But if there was to be a recession coinciding about with the elections that would certainly hurt Hillary and help Trump. And my guess would be that Yellen and probably other members of the Fed (if you could ask them) would prefer Hillary. So I've been thinking about whether they might subconsciously tend to go easier on the rate hikes than they might otherwise do ( all other things being equal) because it is an election year.
