Thanks for this Rocky...I also use the TOS platform. Can you please clarify the Ichimoku settings. Tenkan 9, Kijun 16. What is 52? Thanks

Hi JP, the 52 setting is not changeable on TOS it is the Chikou its not really necessary for day trading this system so I back it out by coloring
it the same as background on my chart.

Oh, OK...gotcha. I'm new to Forex and over the past month have taught myself Ichimoku because I find it fascinating. Not to move off topic, but I've never altered the settings and was wondering if you keep the default for longer term trading....

I only day trade on FX and Futures. I also trade options on indexes and stocks weeklies and monthlies, credit spreads and iron condors but just use pa for those trades. You can always create work spaces with revised and standard Ichimoku settings.

Here's a link for range bars on MT4. I don't know whether it works, but I used to use it back then. There are more reliable tools by OVO, but that costs 50 bucks. Not a bad investment though, if you are serious about trading that way. Anyway, nice thread, I love range bars and renkos.

entry rules are simple.
1) AO crosses zero initiiates looking for trade.
2) Price is on right side of cloud.
3) draw s/r, tl's, dvrgs. etc.
4) enter when pa confirms breaks of s/r, tl etc.

exit rules I leave up to the individual.

My exits, I rarely set a specific hard tp, I use mental targets.
I get out when, a dvrg. is forming, if swing structure breaks down, price reenter the cloud, AO reverses, price closes below tenkan orI've had enough trading.

Stops usually below/above previous swing high/low but never more than 20 pips, once iI get 20 pips profit move stop to b/e.
5 traders viewing now
