Hi Cyber & Traders,

Do you guys know of an indicator that is:

A Zig Zag plotted on the screen as dots that does not re-paint?

If yes, can I maybe download a copy? {Googled & had a look on FF, but cant find it}

Many thanks!

Try this URL. You can find tons of zigzags.... (BTW, non-repainting zigzag? Is that possible?)

I posted this earlier, but realize there are a lot of requests.

I am attaching a HULL MA with alert. I am hoping someone can edit the code so that the indi will alert on the bar close. In addition a look back option would be great. i.e. with a look back of 1, the alert would trigger on the close of the second bar (confirmation bar...BY HMA Color not bullish/bearish candle) instead of the initial color change bar.

Sorry i'm not a coder and i'am not have the mq4 to (sometimes the coder for another reason not posted mq4 as source files)
As far i know with new build of MT4 the ex4 files are not having any restriction (except for the name renaming)

Hi everybody,

I think most of the Currency Strength Meters (CSM) use to have some disadvantages and I say most of them because I dont know them all.
First. If we dont take the big movement of the pair during the first 90 to 120 minutes (and that is not one of those great trends that lasts for all the day from London open to NY close) we can have the rest of the day looking at that pair (because our CSM says it is the best combination of currencies) but the behavior of it is flat or merely rising or decreasing, a desperation.

Second. I we have a pair where base currency is strong and quote is weak then we have a bullish pair but if the bullish movement exhausts and the pair changes direction the currencies in the pair has to go all the way from the top to the bottom and vice versa to show that now it is bearish. For example; when London market open and Asian currencies like AUD or NZD has moved in one direction but then they change direction CSM are still showing they have the strength or weakness from Asian session. At first the CSM show the currencies are still strong and weak but not as much as before, later they are in dead zone and later they change position sometimes after many hours.

Basically their disadvantages are because they consider strength or weakness on a daily basis, from the opening of the day at 00:00 GMT to the time when we see the indicator.

To avoid this we could have an Intraday Currency Performance Percentage (ICP%). This indicator should calculate difference from the opening of a bar n minutes ago and the close of last bar, in percentage. Lets say that n=10 minutes, so 10 minutes ago EURUSD opened at 1.1000 and now, ten minutes later it has closed at 1.1140 so we have 140 pips that in % is 1.27 (pips*100/opening price n bars ago).

We could combine 3 ICP%; one shorter of 8 minutes, another medium of 21 minutes and a longer one of 34 minutes. When the M8 showed a pair was rising we should wait for the M21 for confirmation and if conservative we should also wait for the M34. The M8 could possibly weaken from time to time (retracements) and maybe the M21 too but M34 should be intact. The indicator should change minute by minute so the values of M8, M21 and M34 would be constantly changing values. Of course further research in live would give us the times that fit better for everyone of us.

The objective of this indicator is to identify trends from the beginning even those micro trends that we can find during the day and we always lose them, but it also could give us a clue if the main trend is losing momentum.

More, the indicator ICP% would be another CSM but now intraday. So when we see at that indicator we should be able to recognize which currency has been the strongest and which one the weakest of the last 8, 21 and 34 minutes and below we should have the same for all the pairs with that currency, even repeated pairs.

Look at the picture below to better understand this:

The values in the last table are invented, I mean it is an exaggeration EURUSD >= 2.5% in 34 minutes but it works just as an example. We probably would have enough if during the last 21, 34 or 55 minutes the value of the currency is >= +2.1 (it means a 0.3 % per pair as an average) and the pair is >= +0.4. Of course further research in live is needed to determine what numbers are trusty enough for every one of us.

It would also be very useful to have colored currencies and pairs (just green or red, no need to have intermediate 50/50 colors) when they mach our requirements like in our example.

But, I think we should avoid in the code the rule that we need the currency >= +2.1 in order to paint the pair green. I mean if the currencies of the pair are +1.7 and -1.1 but the pair shows +0.6 the indicator should paint the pair even when the currencies involved are not green and red. This way we have more information at a glance, we see if strength or weakness is something of a pair or the whole currency.

Variables needed:

Intraday = true/false -> if true it is the indicator I need (n minutes ago), if false it is daily indicator and it considers the opening of the day and the close of last minute and disables the next 3 variables (N and levels), true as default.
N = time in minutes -> lets say 34 minutes as default.
Currency Level = percentage where the Currency is colored green or red -> lets say 2.1 as default (if it is >= +2.1 green, if it is <= -2.1 then red).
Pair Level = percentage where the Pair is colored green or red -> lets say 0.4 as default (if it is >= +0.4 green, if it is <= -0.4 then red).

Suggested variables:

Sound alarm = true/false -> true as default, when the level requirements of Currency or Pair match.

The next one complicates this indicator a lot so if you think its no worthy forget it and I will use 3 different windows instead of only one.
Number of Time Frames = between 1 and 5 (3 at least) -> lets say 3 as default. Here we decide to look at what happened during the last 8, 21 and 34 minutes so we have 3 columns for every currency with the change in % the last M34, M21 and M8 but also 3 different results for the currency when adding the values of every pair.

I dont think we should need more than 5 TF or we will have a mess trying to read the indicator, remember we have to read it at a glance if possible.

The variable Number of Time Frames also means that we should need, at least, 3 different N (N1, N2 and N3), and 3 different Currency and Pair Levels for not to mention that sound alarm should affect to the 3 TF. I know its a mess so as I said before if you think its no worthy and its easier to have 3 ICP% in 3 different windows is ok.

Thats all.

Thank you very much to any of you who decide to invest time in this project.

Hi all,

In the last post I talked about a new indicator which I called Intraday Currency Performance Percentage % (ICP%) and why I think it could be great to have this indicator for Intraday trading.

Basically the idea is to take advantage of all those mini trends that occur during the day if they are worthy enough of course.

Now I want to show an example I took from yesterday to support this idea:

Please tell me what you think about these ideas.

Thanks a lot for your colaboration.

Hi, I have a cool idea for an indicator. It is an SAR with 'levels' like the Moving Average indicator that comes with MetaTrader.

Another way to say this is an SAR with pipshadow.

This way we could see how far away price is from the SAR. It could help with decision making. And SAR is a classic indicator so to add levels would be interesting.

THANKS for any help!

Hi Guys

Can anyone code a pip counter the same as this one but with a limiter on it, I'm using range bars and depending on the instrument it shows too many zeros.
For example when a 3 pip range bar is used it displays in hundreds instead of single figures.

Thanks in advance

Hello and good day,

Can anyone please make this EA bug free?

Attached are the screenshots:

It opens multiple buy or sell positions when a buy or sell signal appears in the form of arrow by an indicator, when its supposed to open only 1 order buy or sell when the signal appears. It keeps opening and closing and goes crazy. Doesnt happen every time but at critical times.

Thank you once again.

I will put this request here again, as I understand there are many other requests and perhaps also what I'm trying to get isn't the easiest thing to code for an EA. But here it is:

Can I ask for an EA that is based on pinbars for MT4?

1) Basic function is it looks at the current bar right when it finishes, and makes a decision on whether it is a pinbar or not. For example, a simple rule could be 70% of whole candle is wick, and rest 30% is actual body. So anything >= 70% wick is classified as pinbar.

2) If it deems at the close of the current bar that it is a pinbar, it immediately opens an order in the direction of that pinbar.

3) It can do that for every open chart in your MT4.

4) It can do that for range bars, tick bars etc. For example, for a 50 pip range bar chart, it detects again when the bar will close and classifies it.

OR maybe it is easier if this EA just recognizes when there has been a bar change, and immediately makes a decision on the previous bar based on point 1.

It would be great to do some statistical analysis of the famous pinbar through this EA. Anyone who might take a look at it, I would be very very thankful.
