How can we enhance our radar efficiency, any idea guys?

AND... I did not see that coming.

Important lesson for this trade was that due to good MM I only lost 0.5% Mentally very easy to deal with knowing that I only need 1 good trade to get back between 1% - 1.5%. Never let the market change the way you trade. Take the hits and just wait for the winners.


On a side note, does any one know what news announcement caused this spike?

I am still on USDCAD with stoploss moved to capture 100+ pips. Trade is still on.

This trade is more like a gap up in the market so a correction may follow in by the end of the day so I have kept my stop loss at 3% profit level hopefully I am wrong an correction does not occur then it may result in a massive profit. Be careful guys.

I always thought daily time frame does not get affected to that extent with the news release but this proved that belief wrong need to be more careful in future. Although I haven't seen significant changes like these in other major FX pairs on daily time-frame or 4-hourly has anyone else? My experience in trading is relatively less.

In original thread V said his TE wouldn't be following the system rules. It's play money he is experimenting with.

According to the rules, I think:

  1. U/CAD should've been a SELL at beginning of his order close bar.
  2. A/J should've been a BUY 18 hours after his order open bar.

Both would've gone to profit

There are 3 more critical news release today for the EUR and USD pairs as the news release will be ECB press conference and Minimum Bid rate affecting GBP and EUR pairs. USD unemployment claims. So guys you might wanna secure some of the profits or update the stop losses before the release. I am not trading those pairs today at all as I do not have much experience trading fundamentally. So at the least I will be noting down the behavior of market before and after the news release.

We better avoid tier#1 news releases (rate decision, NFP, Feb/ECB conference,..). For the other mid/minor news, they hardly can revert the daily chart based direction I think....
We have ECB conference today by the way. I am flat to EUR pairs today.

EURNZD, i leave the trade in breakeven because two major news this night for NZD and this afternoon for EURO, don't take a EURO trade today !

I think it is important to look at the economic calendar of the week before entering if you use H4 and H1.

Got in too. There are certain level's I am careful about here they are below in the pic. As happened in EURNZD few days back the market bounced back from the daily support level even though the setup for the trade was perfect.
