Hi,
I am currently using Pepperstone and playing with DAX. As I can see, with this broker anyway, I can only trade between 1 and 8 full lots. I am curious, I realise that this is not as large a market as forex but are trade sizes of 8 lots easily taken and is it possible to trade larger amounts?
Thanks
Max

Or you could just try communicating your desire to trade larger amounts to Pepperstone. I think they'd likely accommodate you.
if you don't do your maths, the maths will do you.

Wasn't so much about the broker. I was just curious as DAX is not forex, if you could still make such large trades easily.

FXCM has a smaller lot size on the DAX. 1/10 of the size of other brokers to be exact.

I do not understand why a newbe like you would want to use more than 8 lots )))
provable not know but the dax is 'German index so you have to be close to london germany server so
forget scams broker like as fxcm
you know the difference between CFDs and futures ?? provable no ,, however, the best broker for people like you full of DEMO money )) jejeje and Lmax
or fxmtf they have the mini futures dax you know what ''s??

the dax and"""'tool"""more dangerous than full of market ))) without volume and silly work it , and all mt4 no have volume cluster market only fake volume (number of tick )
and it must be worked with very different specific indicators from fx

you have to understand what moves the price ,,,,, behind the price best wishes

I put her e an indicator to help you to understand if the broker send lot of data or mm broker send poor data cfd dax

after you've seen demo lmax at work other words not to say more ))

http://www.abundancetradinggroup.com...ter-indicator/ please try this and put in 2 day chart from 2 different broker and look !!
ig is good but mm and too expensive

all brokers are good if you work above 7 min average time order
all brokers are bad if you work in scalper mode with average time order from 1 to 3 min

there are many other ways to understand if a broker and 'good ,, if you look this ,(screenshot ) close the account immediately and take back the money
the broker manipulating the code signal ,,, digitizing it FXCM example

Best Broker based current personal experience?

Considerations:

1. Most important: ease and speed of withdrawals
2. Spread/Liquidity
3. Online back office: ease of moving funds in and out of multiple trading accounts
4. overall professionalism and quality of service.
5. Others I missed?

Correct, but FXCM will slip your orders to death.
They are by far the worst broker you can find.
They will pay you your profits ANY time and will not ran away with your funds, But as a daytrader FXCM WILL be trading against you in every possible way.
Stay away from scum...they will dissapoint you and frustrate you untill kingdom comes.

I'm curious who you would recommend? Believe me, I think most brokers (FXCM included) are scum, but they have a better reputation than others.

I am using LCG. London Capital Group. Much better than FXCM.
And yes there is no such a thing as a perfect broker.
Most brokers servers looks like the picture below.....Plugins to destroy retail traders accounts....

An appropriate DAX30 lot size probably in comparision with other USD pairs like EURUSD, GBPUSD etc. etc.

I just realized im using the same broker as you, but im able to do more than 8 lots. Strange.

One pip of a typical forex lot (1.0 or 100,000) is about 10 cents a pip

Therefore a 150 pip movement on the dax on a 10 lot would barely be $150.

DAX is not compared to FX pipwise.
A pip in dax (9415 to 9416 for ex.) with a standard lot is usually 27$ so 10 lots/contracts x 150 pips would be 40500$.

usually the point value is specified by the broker, but the above is what i've seen with most brokers.
