Interesting, you don't put your stop below the low of the 2BR, just below the first bar?

​It all depends Liam. Many factors involved in my SL placement decision process. Am I lookin to scalp or am I trying to catch a runner, time of day, recent PA, expected move, pairs ADR etc...

For this trade being later in the day I wanted a tighter SL which I could get a quick 1:1 on (wanted 1:1 before we got back to that swing H which we were approaching) and have a chance to pull 3-5:1 return off only a 30-50 pip rise.

Recent PA and places I feel have been thoroughly tested and or orders thoroughly filled (based on PA, bar and volume reads) are areas I want to place my SL and if I can get in closer than all the better. I may and will get stopped out at times trying to catch a tight stop if I made a bad read but the ones that run off a 10 pip SL more than make up for the few I get wrong.

So basically what I am saying is I don't have a fixed rule for SL placement based on ANY of my entry patterns.

Yes, I would have preferred the one that completed 6 bars before it but I wasn't around. On my chart the bar you marked was on lower volume than bar 1. It closed 2 pips under 50% of bar 1 so I broke my rule to take the trade. Due to the fact we had back to back 2BR less than 30 mins apart was enough for me to be satisfied taking the trade.

While not a 2br prez reversal. I was comfortable with using the lower end of the zone. Had test the bottom on yesterdays zone, closed in upper half on higher volume.

EDIT - I've just re-read what you said about the 15m high volumes bars within an HVC and if its in the top of the range then it means price is more likely to re-test the 50 of the HVC again before going down. I wonder if that answers my question about why ND#2 was a relatively better trade than #1?

GBP Short 10 feb 1hr zone short entry after getting hidden uptrust in the lows on 1min highest volume zones of today with combination of 5min 2:1 R:R.

Hello Gav and All,

Sorry I have been silent lately, I've been down and out sick as a dog and haven't traded all week.

I'm not sure Gav if the 15min volume within your 1hr zone would answer the question or not (haven't looked at a chart since Friday) but what I can respond to is that yes I prefer for my entry signal bars to touch the level. I dislike floating bars so no I most likely would not have taken either one. I would have however traded that lovely NBP into the 50%. Increased volume up bar followed by 3 straight decreasing volume bars with the last being that NBP which touched and closed below 50%. Room to bank $ before the L and the L had been taken out already so the chance the trade may run is increased. Start as a scalp and try to trail it.
