the entire market is all a rigged Ponzi scheme. In order for you to be in profit, someone or something has to buy the shit you bought after you bought it so then you can sell it to them at a higher price. The market doesn't move off of news and data bullshit or some trendline. There is nothing to invest in or own.

Hi venividivici;

I Trade from M5 so I'm looking at H1 Market Structure to gain a Directional Bias.

I highlight H1 Market Structure and then drop down to M5 and wait for the Market to come to these Levels.

I look for Accumulation and Manipulation (Stop Raids) to enter Trades in the direction of H1 Structure and, if I'm correct, I ride the Distribution to profit.

The key thing is to have the patience to wait for the Market to come to where you are expecting Market Reaction and understanding what the Market is doing once it is there. This should get you in line with the Market.

As you have said the Market isn't always going to be Manipulated this is why we need to be aware of Orders being Accumulated and Observe how the Market moves into the Distribution Phase.

I think one can go nuts with market manipulation.
At least I did :-D

The problem (for me) was that with this kind of analysis you mainly want to find a "reason" for the price moves.
You can read many things about how they hunted the stops and it was a "conspiracy" of the "robber bank market makers"...
But then you realize that 50% they dont do that. They dont take the highs. Then you think that "it is because the market was weak and the market makers bla bla bla..."

Point being - if this "MarketMaker reason" makes you feel comfortable trading this setup (=gives you belief) then by all means.
But do not try to put too much logic into this mess... It's just a "setup". Like the other 1500 out there...
It's all psychology...

a common mistake is to put the stop loss few pips away from a support/resistance. Having your stop loss on
support/resistance is asking it to be hit.

I sometime trade with 200pips stop loss but this fits my style of trading. Might be different for everyone

3. The forex market is manipulated, but you are far from discussing actual, real market manipulation. Your broker, and for that matter, all the retail brokers on earth in combined effort, could not manipulate this market. What you seem to be talking about, is your confusion and misunderstanding of what is going on in the forex.

If you want to have a real discussion about market confusion, post real charts as the basis of discussion. If you want to talk about manipulation, you are a long way from recognizing actual manipulation in the charts. That beging with fundamental info from central banks and national treasures.

the book is worth reading because it is short and his ideas are different, the patterns that he demonstrates do play out in real time, but who knows who, what or why make them

Hey Jay, no this was early on when I was still learning the ropes about trading.. I only trade pure price action reversals on the minute chart now.

It is an interesting book though with different ideas, however the problem I see with the logic in the book is that anyone could interpret or make up what they're seeing on their own chart, and I don' think that's consistent for long term results.

Ok, that is what i was thinking since the post is from 2016 and your trading probably evolved since then. That is the problem with books.. often they plant very "wonderful" ideas but rarely they're applyable on the markets... We can see/find anything we want in hindsight!
