The arrows on the attached chart are generated by the Candle Size Alert indicator - attached. They can help in monitoring the PA around turns and with WRB Analysis

Looks nice and smooth with the renko ha. My 5 tick of the same move looks a tad noisier!!, sorry about the scale but that move equates to about 15 yards of screen to the right!!. It does however give plenty of opportunities to re enter for the nervous ones who exit early like me. 9:1 win/loss ratio for me from this morning.

Dax just fell into a hole! Whilst the Renko chart looks great, it lacks the info available from candlesticks.....

Someone was asking about Delta Demand / Supply Zones. Here's Hidden Gap's latest post on the subject....

Supply/Demand Delta Zones (aka Entry Signal Zones) are based on WRB Analysis and do differ from traditional Supply/Demand Zones. Although the basic concepts of the Rally Base Rally, Decline Base Decline, Rally Base Decline and Decline Base Rally can be seen. (see chart 1)

These zones are not intended to be "touch" zones. They represent areas, or zones, where there has been a key change in the Supply/Demand Dynamic and therefore are ideal for taking trade signals should an entry signal appear within said zone.

Chart 2 shows a valid Confirmation Entry signal (short). However, a real-time SIM trade was taken long after the appearance of the Valid Bullish Dark Hammer Pattern. This brings to light the notion of "What you want to see; Where you want to see it".

Chart 3 shows a good Rally Base Rally pattern that creates the most recent zone. You can also see that the Supply Zone is closed.

I'm not really saying much here. Please send me another PM if you would like more details.

In that chop on Friday I took a look at your Heiken ashi Renko idea. It has some merit. The 4 point chart would certainly work, A 2 point chart is interesting from the point of view of identifying entries relatively early, particularly using a wave pattern of lows and highs, renkos by their nature reveal these nicely and in today's choppy conditions it would have done well. Utilised with sweetspots key levels and of course higher timeframe candle charts it seems good. I have always avoided HAs as I think you lose too much data - watching actual candles real time is the only way to learn - but now I am getting lazy I may have to try this.

As always the trick is filtering out the dross.

I do not use Bollinger Bands and what do you mean by MM?

Good to see some life on our old thread

Just a couple of comments on chart representations:

The open of the H-A candle is EMA3 of (O + H + L + C)/4. So if, for example, you're using EMA36 as an entry trigger on 5 second charts, that's very similar to using H-A candles on a 3 minute chart. Why take the pain of watching the 5 second chart, then?

I've developed various quantitative entry triggers, to make things objective and somehow statistically accurate. But being a very visual individual, I don't find those quantitatively produced dots very intuitive as entry triggers. So in the end I find myself using H-A on a suitably chosen chart instead.

I struggle with that too, and sometimes switch back to regular candles and some other entry trigger. But then I find myself "reading PA", and being clever about entries. The net result is more stress, and a few trades entered too early with stop-out as a result.

So my conclusion is that H-A is a good solution in the long run.

Renko chart I don't like at all. I prefer range candles, which provide essentially the same filtering but with less loss of information. Have you tried RBs?

Indeed - and if we keep passing by with the odd post I'm certain we can sustain it

I tried 15 second charts and found them too stressful - but then I didn't try with H-A.........and I likewise need visual charts. I did try RBs and will do so again, but as you mentioned regular candles do show things that RBs miss - WRBs and candle patterns being the most obvious.

Now that I've recovered from a nasty bug that laid me low for the last few days I'll post a few charts with different set-ups - a couple from you would also be appreciated

Glad to see your post and chart - fresh ideas are one reason to keep our thread active

@mmisters - I've posted all of the indicators that I'm using - OK, I put both CII and StochasticColor in the same window - so please do some work yourself to find what settings you find best - and then post a chart or two - that way all followers here benefit Thanks

Two Range Bar charts - a 5 pts RB and a 6 pts RB.......I find the difference in the RB charts quite surprising for a 1pt difference......other settings need research to find the best settings...

I would first find the proper MA channels, then identify the setups through back-testing visually. After that I'd worry about entry signals.

Yes, the difference can be surprising, so it's about finding the range that gives the right balance between filtering out noise while not losing relevant information.
