Done and done with live trading for the day (+12, +23)

Easy as pie, trend was up, so I was obedient and bought into the dips. Don't predict, just follow.

I did not buy the 2 Stochastic OS before my last entry, because the range was too small for my taste.

I am curious why you emphasized the divergence in your MACD indi against the chart. The classic technical approach would not allow you to buy against the divergence.

It's called Hidden divergence and that is exactly what you are supposed to do. If the Oscillator makes a LL while price makes a HL, you follow the price not the indicator. Matter of fact, you always follow price. Divergence, let it be regular or hidden is only a heads-up.

I did not say it was wrong, it may work pretty well, just it is something different from classics. In this particular case the divergence would not signal anything (the last three swings were in a range). But in case of the up-trend it would prevent from buying. So, from my point of view it was rather a ranged trade, and it may use it different (like a signal the range may increase). So I asked.

You might be right about the ranging condition, that's why I bought when I did on my last trade. It made an obvious HH (higher than the last 3), which signaled the end of the ranging for me. I always traded Hidden Divergence this way. Thanks for asking though, it is better to clear any doubts.

Yes but when you have some losers you need to get the money back and be a winner not for today or this week but for long term. It is there i think R:R plays a role.

DAX Demo trades (+6, +14, +11, +18)

Wanted to try trading after news that caused a blast but strictly on demo. I tried Philippine's approach and it was all based on 'feeling' and fast PA.

This thread is book.... do not compare theory with real trading. If you knew something about cycles, you would see that BBalazs trade was absolutelly great opened. No matter if there was some divergence or was not.

Kind of stupid entries todays, I do not know what I was really looking at, but I have to hedge to save my positions. This is what happens if you enter on the end of cycle to opposite way and when you are impatient and you enter before cycle ends. Thanks to God, daily target reached, +67 pips, I am done for today.

I am curious, why did you delete the Stochastic? It could be useful to avoid selling at points where you suffered that huge DD.

Please do not "Google search" me as an answer to my specific question, it is insulting, especially as I have been using divergence as a main stay of my trading for over 9 nine years. Apart from the fact that "none" of what came up made any reference to your statement.

This statement flies in the face of Classic use of Divergence, in this instance Hidden Divergence which signals a move back into Trend, so what I was hoping for from you was a specific reference to a specific text by a specific person or persons, so that I could look at it myself and see if it was a valid filter that could be beneficial when trading using divergence. Instead you provide me with a "Google search term"!!!!!!!

Now I understand, you were obviously confused, BBalazs was buying back into an uptrend following confirmation of Hidden Divergence, he was not buying against divergence he was buying with divergence!!

So this whole conversation is mute. Please ignore my request for clarification as none is necessary.

Hey lads. Haven't been posting lately because I'm doing loads of back testing and working out how to better filter my trades.

I was looking at EU chart and...this is the coolest thing I've seen on a renko chart. I think, I may be wrong, these are algos working the market. Someone with a really low spread, a great execution and proper emotional control could have made a pretty penny here.

You have the general idea, except for the fact that you have not made any allowance for Trend, S&R, BRNs or Divergence.

9 Trades, 1 loser, 3 BEs, 5 winners. Seems pretty reasonable to me considering it's the 3 pip chart.

OK, you got me. What are we looking at, to me it looks like the old test card on a TV at a time when the valves still glowed.
