I have taught friends on how to trade on forex markets in Australia there returns on average around 17% per month after reading some of the comments on this thread I am disappointed that people are not making a reasonable living after they have learnt how forex works and know what to look for , it seems that most people on this thread have not learnt how it works , and using very small account will not give you a living but the small account will teach you a few things but the bigger picture people miss it , happy new year to you all​

I am 65 years old been in the industry 25 years pray tell which hedge fund into days age wants to hire a 65 years old


and LORDO YOU TALK ABOUT HEDGE FUNDS , in Australia I know a lot of full time traders who stared there accounts with $500.00 and now accounts in the $200000.00 and more , seems to me you need to learn , and let me tell you I don't even turn Bloomberg on if you are watching it you need to turn it off and go learn the real forex

Aussi, I do not want to argue with you. I just view your claim of 17% as outlandish and unrealistic. Of course , I could be wrong about your trading ability and record of returns. Perhaps you would consider setting up a demo account and post trades and results for 1 month here on FF.

what part of greed do I see coming out of your post , I don't care what you do or don't believe I have nothing to prove to you as I said in the last post its clear you want a get rich scheme and get a free ride and you did not answer my question about a fund hiring a 65 year old ​

Absolutely yes. Long term ALL accounts are "transferred" to the brokers' pockets.

I am sure there are traders making good, even big profits. However, let me share some Liquidity Providers data with you. A big LP company has an institutional broker as a client. LP and broker names cannot be shared, sorry. Every month the broker pumps up to the LP, about 20,000,000 USD, traders money. At the end of each sixth month, from those 20 mil. NOTHING is left. That thing goes on and on and on. Every month. Month after month. Year after year.

Only 1 out of 10,000 traders is profitable in a long run. Usually, 5 years is a cycle considered as long enough for one to prove being good at trading.

And I wonder, where are all those miracle winners, everyone speaks about on FF?!? 30-40% a month, on a 5 years run, on a Live account? That is something that surely exists, yet, somehow, it is not made public. And we need to see more than just one such account. We need to make it like a movement. Not a sensation, but an everyday's cup of coffee that should be... Where it is? Does anyone have an idea?

It is a very controversal thread.
I have a question for those who say that it is not possible to make money trading Forex, why are they here, why are they trading?
I dont say that is easy to make consistent money trading, but it is possible, isnt it?
If a trader with a good strategy and money management can, lets say win consistently during three months...why couldnt this trader keep it up for the rest of the life?
The only answer I know is if this trader modify the strategy, or start being greedy, risking more than usual...otherwise....
So, Id say it is possible to make money trading Forex if:

  1. You have a winner strategy.
  2. Your drowdown is low.
  3. You risk a very small percentage of your capital in every entry.
  4. You are a good administrator (money management).
  5. If you enjoy trading, but you trade to make money.
  6. If you are 100% aware that any given day...if you believe you know the market, and you risk more than you should...the market can KILL your account the same day!!!

The market is always RIGHT...I never, never underestimate it!!!

The sad reality is as follows. As humans, we believe that the WORLD revolves around us and that involves forex as well. On the very first page of this thread, someone mentioned that the O.P. was full of crap because he said he makes 15% a month. I will beat that he doesn't believe that it is possible because he himself has not been able to do so.
I posted over at myfxbook and made the move here, and I can tell you that most systems fail because people modify their strategy or they get greedy just as you mentioned. I saw a trade earn 1200% in 8 months, with drawdowns each month under 5% and the 9th month once he got some really big clients, the account all of a sudden started to have huge drawdowns and in 3 months the account popped.
Many people there, just like posters here then started calling the guy a scammer, etc when one could clearly see from the stats that the system/trader was doing things differently. Differently in what sense? Well, when he avg 5% drawdown, not one of his orders had a drawdown in pips more then 45 pips. During the last 3 months of his trading he had positions which were floating in red over 800 pips. Yes from 45 pips to 800 pips. Yet, the masses don't care about "The reason why" they simply just want to comment and discourage others from following another trader, which is why I always have and will ignore "active posters" who don't show their results.
To sum it up, active posters are the ones you should pay attention to, but don't follow their trades. As active posters will reveal their trades, and it will give you the chance to do "reverse engineering" to see how it is they determine their positions. If you do it long enough, you'll notice most of their positions are taken on "heads/tails" instead of the "system" which they preach day in and day out that they use.
I'm here to share my results and see how many traders I can out perform.

Yes, I believe that. Psychologycally is not the same trading a 500$ account than 50.000$...pressure, responsability, etc...modify our decisions...
Techincal stuff, money management, strategy, etc...can be taught, pero the psychologycal part is the most difficult to handle, because this one is up to every person...

Oh, I believe that...I mean, I am trading real account for the las two and a half months only...my last 30 days Iīve averaged 13% profit in 176 trades, drowdown 6.20%, average pips in wins 14, average pips in loses 12, winning trades 62%. Not bad for a newbie. I have been improving my numbers almost every week and I am more than happy with I am acomplishing so fast, everyday I am more confident in my trading everyday, and I know my trading will give me profit in the long run, so probably Iīll have same days, weeks, even months with some losses, but they should be small ones based on my money and risk management....
HOWEVER...I donīt trust the market, I know I am dead man the day I underestimate the market...
So, everyday I say myself...donīt be stupid, stick the strategy, donīt risk more than is planned and donīt be greedy. Some days iare not easy...you know.
I started with a small real account (after 6 months on demo) of 500$, and recently I increased it to 1.000$, and Iīll be increasing my capital step by step while I am doing things well and I feel I can handle it with not pressure...I know if Iīd have a 50.000$ or 100.000$ account doing same I am doing know....Iīd have a very good income, but I know I am not ready for that yet....but I dream it!!!
