384 Kbps for "way out there" is great I suppose, but pretty useless for my trading needs though.

I think you have to consider time zone as well. You will either have to change your trading style or change your trading schedule.

Thailand, for example, is pretty good. London market opens around 2pm I think. That's the best time to be indoors in Thailand because of the heat or afternoon rains during monsoon season. So you can trade London Market all afternoon and the US overlap early evening and you still have plenty of time to head out for something to eat and maybe hit a pub or whatever.

Trading longer time frames makes it a lot easier to adjust to different timezones I think.

Thanks for your sharing. Interesting travelling experience! Although I have ever lived in Brighton (a lively town, good beach, etc.) for years, not completely sure how UK charge for their citizen, in some countries, government charges citizens for profit create in their own land, so if they use an oversea broker, it is a bit complicated. Hahaha.

I believe one of the advantages of traveling allot while trading is that you can declare perpetual traveler status in regards to taxation, if you are not resident in any country.

As a perpetual traveler you don’t have to pay taxes but you can’t spend more than 6 months in any one country in a year.

I read this some were so please check if you plan to use this info , as I’m not shore about tax laws.

this is true, or atleast was for some passports, its best to sus out what the ins and out of your passport.

Australian passports used to be exempt from tax if you spent 6 months and 1 doay outside of Aust, IF the money was made abroad, but now you have to be out side of Australia for 2 years before you are exempt from tax, over these 2 years you must declare your current salary and tax contributions to the country you are residing in, and if there is any difference you have to pay the AUSTRALIAN tax level, which is just RANSOM, they demand Aussies working and saving abroad to pay them tax for no benifits? we dont use any of the SERVICE's they claim taxes are for, yet we are held at gun oint for money they just entitle them selves to...

most aussies work internationally to save money, and then invest the money back into property or other vehicles of revenue, so whats the problem?, it'nt that already enough?
we work outside Aust, remove currency from the country and invest it into Australia, (dang greedy tax man)

tell ya makes my blood boil, but!!!
the more time you spend around world travelers, knowledge gets passed on how to remove funds from site, =O)

i been working and traveling for 11 years now, =O)

Hey mate, I used the search with BGAN and found only this thread. I'm considering going off the trail without a hard internet line and I was looking for internet connection alternatives. I was wondering how you found trading using BGAN?

Or anyone else with real life experience. I won't be scalping but a decent always connection is ok with me.

I've traded while on holiday in Spain and Tenerife ( UK resident ) £5 get me a days worth of data access and it was raining so traded at the bar, even placed a trade on the beach.

Samsung Galaxy Note + 3G data is all you need and maybe a large solar panel phone charger to keep it going.



It's my Plan B ( Plan A is expected to fail ) so this time next year bum around europe realistically living off trading profits made from a phone, easy life.
Nothing to it, but to do it!!! Stick to the plan FOOL!!!!

Hi, are you still in Malta? I have been in Phuket for the last 2.5 years and am getting a little restless and find the time difference not ideal for my lifestyle. I sure like the European timezone!

I guess only 1% of the traders have this luxury (see below pie chart from "newschool's" website), and probably less than 1% is really into being on the move all the time.

It may sound like fun traveling the world with a laptop, but after a few years it can get "old"... Like everything in life... Even a brand new Bentley or a luxury yacht will get "old", not to mention the girls at each port...

Of course one can always buy the newest cars and gadgets, but if you devote some time reading into the "science of happines", you will be surprised to see that you were looking for happiness (statistically) at all the wrong places...

I could imaging a situation where a profitable trader is working 50% of the year in a "normal job" and lives in a "cheap" country for the other half while trading... this is a much mor reallistic approach to this "dream"

Of course one can play with the percentages... :nerd:
