vsa with Malcolm

A setup in the air definitely won't work. A support/resistance and the edge of a WRB seems a good place to me for a trade, so far as I tested. I do a mixture of TEB's and Pres' trading.

Thats the things. People get upset because people dont use pure VSA. According to me Pure VSA doesnt work. You need some kind of lines, zones or trends. I trade alot more Wyckoff based, and even wyckoff spends alot of time on trend, S&R.

So people should just respect that we all find our trades in different ways

The proper SL in this case is below the spring. For the higher entry, it is below the trigger. In my case I had an emergency SL below the low of all price and would have exited on a close below either.

Another textbook VZA trade. I took this trade on AUD futures on Friday. The green line is the lower boundary of the 1 hour high volume zone from Dec 10th. I went to 1-minute chart to find an entry. The entry was after a small no-demand up bar.

If you are talking about VSA as written by Tom William and promoted by Tradeguider, then the following applies. (If not then please ignore and more on).

Most people try to apply vsa trading principles every minute of the trading day and get bad results. If people bother to view Tom and Tradeguider's material properly then they will find that there are at most only a few times during any trading day WHERE a trade may present itself.

Ask Tom why did he own a 5ft long rule; it was not for scratching his back or arse.

As most people fail to put any real effort into learning then I'll save you the time of asking and disturbing Tom, he used it TO DRAW TRENDLINES.

Go and look on youtube and Gavin openly talks about trendlines and channels and support and resistance; why? because they are part of pure vsa.
WHEN to make a trade is not a TIME, it is a PLACE. And remember trades do fail.

The USD may well and likely will weaken tomorrow even with a .25 base point increase
if less then that or no increase - it may drop like a stone and be a blood bath.
This is possible a once in a decade event - on the worlds main base money.
Added to that (a) its year end and (b) Western holiday season
It could be a wild ride
Personally I will be sitting out until at least Thursday !!

No -not even close SD Zone work "worse" in Forex and (Futuremoney)
the reason - it does not respect the zones
reasons are many
but two main ones are
Stop lose running and the fact it is not a real market
to do SD Zones a lone in stock is pretty good
in Forex you will get killed

I agree with TEB, I say they will raise the rate, bu it will be the buying climax of the decade. SM will sell into everybody's buying, and start the markdown of the dollar.

This is the chart of the dollar index, it looks just like a pattern which needs an upthrust after distribution, or a huge markdown bar.

WHAT you want to see; WHERE you want to see it. Hmm, I think I've heard that before...........

While I am not saying this is a trade set up, although a few would see it as such, I do think this is VSA in a nutshell.

We know that the Smart Money likes to use news events to position themselves against the herd.

Take a look what happened on the recent Fed announcement.

We see a wide spread UP bar on Ultra high volume. The Ultra High volume tells us that the Smart Money (big boys) are involved. 90% of volume can be attributed to the Smart Money. The ones that can move the market.

Let's back up for one moment. We know that weakness, when it appears, tends to appear on UP bars. UP bars are bars that close higher than the previous bar. The interval here is UP as it closes higher than the previous interval. With candles, we see that the close of this interval is higher than its open. VSA does not look at the open, but many traders do. And to them this is an UP candle (close>open).

Yet, if we look closer at the close, we must wonder why the close is well off the high. If all that volume (activity) was buying, shouldn't the close be on the high? And shouldn't the next bar be UP instead of DOWN? We have to conclude that there was some selling (supply) entering the market on this interval.

We can see that this interval enters into a Supply/Demand Zone. We can see it close off its high with the next candle down. We can see that that next candle closes outside of the zone. So whilst we would not want to trade the news, we can start to see a possibility of trading the reaction to the news. But again, I am not saying this is the ideal entry for most. But it is an example of What you want to see, were you want to see it.
