Great stuff everyone I will post some charts later. The ability to use the pitchfork tool is in practice. Don't make charting overly complicated with lines. Only draw a line if it is helpful, erase lines that are not. If you feel confused drawing forks stick to SR until you can begin to see the C pivot. Remember forks are high low high or low high low. Remember this is supposed to be both simple and able to make you money.

I'm trying to draw consistently so I've not made much use of sliding parallels for all the reasons above. Winston mentioned that he's only using standard median lines - they have an objectivity to them, they're drawn from 3 alternating pivots so there's little debate about where one's lines should be placed. In an ideal world that what I want to work towards with my drawing - to be consistent in the method I use and in the structures I use as the points of origin for my drawing. If I can be consistent I can evaluate clearly to see what works, what doesn't and maybe even why. If I can do that I can have faith in my method in real time.

There are some instances where I have started using sliding parallels consistently. This is where the 'C' pivot of a median line set forms as a wash of some prior structure. I often find in such instances price doesn't come back to test the median line parallel. In these cases I find a sliding parallel drawn off of the last minor swing low/high before the 'c' pivot often gives me an entry. Hopefully the charts are self explanatory.

i keep finding these types of ranges does someone know if they have a name?

very interesting! So true.

I remember that once Tim said in one of his webinars that once a sliding parallel (SH) gets invalidated he is done and won't redraw any SH, especially if the SH is beyond the upper/lower median line (breakout from fork). The point of using SH is to catch a fork shift when time extends while price is lagging behind (still same frequency).

I think it is called "doubling the range", or action reaction set, or as above -- so below, or frequency etc...

Small action reaction sets within larger action reaction sets. Look up the book trend line techniques of Alan Andrews and the Action Reaction course I posted on the first thread.
