    Information received since the Federal Open Market Committee met in September suggests that economic activity has been expanding at a moderate pace. Household spending and business fixed investment have been increasing at solid rates in recent months, and the housing sector has improved further; however, net exports have been soft. The pace of job gains slowed and the unemployment rate held steady. Nonetheless, labor market indicators, on balance, show that underutilization of labor resources has diminished since early this year. I'm hesitating between buying a dove bird at home or reading the Fed texts, I'm really indecisive.

Doves come in a variety of sizes and colors, ensuring that you will find the perfect companion. Doves are quiet, gentle, reserved birds who are content just being in the presence of their pet parent. In lieu of talking, doves make a very soothing cooing sound. They require a habitat that is at least 24" x 24" and although they are not known to play with a lot of toys, they do appreciate foraging toys, which provide mental stimulation. With their tranquil nature, it's no wonder doves are the universal sign of peace.

Feds added "probability of raising next meting"??

I don't think so.

"In determining whether it will be appropriate to raise the target range at its next meeting, the Committee will assess progress--both realized and expected--toward its objectives of maximum employment and 2 percent inflation. This assessment will take into account a wide range of information, including measures of labor market conditions, indicators of inflation pressures and inflation expectations, and readings on financial and international developments. The Committee anticipates that it will be appropriate to raise the target range for the federal funds rate when it has seen some further improvement in the labor market and is reasonably confident that inflation will move back to its 2 percent objective over the medium term".

All still based on analysis of data. There is no "probability" of anything.

yes, so the economy is not good so usd is still a safe haven....gimme a break...solid manipulatin of the currency...but why not...we love the usd. keep buying it because it looks great when you have your head buried deep in the sand.

so trading it was easy... news was to be expected. Strength of USD was to be expected. Support it at all cost was to be expected. Just beware when you pull your head out of the sand that things may change quickly.

Bit of a "will she, won't she" scenario in play here.... As already alluded to earlier in here by others, I think the real question is can the Fed actually afford to raise rates?
Noting the carnage that will occur; not just immediately in a wide range of markets globally but also what the impact will be in the following months/years.
Kind of reminds me of the Greece scenario earlier this year... and where did that end up - no where, just delayed again!

well just read the market, imo before the meeting there was no chance of this year anymore, now they have brought that topic back up that they still would like to, and that part that says "next meeting" was never there, neither was the brush off of the global concerns (certainly less concerned then the last statement) or the brush off of lacking wage growth.. raising rates will always be data dependent, but we are talking what the market is showing us also.. DIVERGENCE trade... and honestly, i dont see them raising rates either, but the fact remains that they are hawkish and still planning to raise in dec... and other central banks are considering adding to their easing.

This is another of 20th or more statement with 120+ pips in total of 2400 pips. + EUR statements not to mention. Yes it is absurd and yes it is a game.
When rate will change there will be at max. 400 pips of change.
Statements are good opportunity for big fat livestock money-pull-actors.

Even a small hike in interest rates will make US debt unserviceable.

Anyone having faith in the FED to essentially value the currency that they work so hard to save in is deluded. The FED has a 100 year record of devaluing the Dollar. Steal from the working class to serve its masters.

The only way to protect yourself is to buy undervalued hard assets Gold and Silver being examples.

Its funny the market still takes these clowns seriously.

it was a trick or treat game ....It was trick this time, despite no hike, and previous non-farm payrolls earlier this month was negative....so it means it's hawkish tone? Well ecb ease and fed hold means=trick or treat game in my opinion . Fed not giving us candy man ...Fed playing the trick game .

sold off the hop, closed almost immediately and bought in at 1.31415

looking at USD/CAD oil has pushed the dollar down quite a bit.
but now that the usd is up, oil has not reacted in tandem with it.

i think we'll see another dip in oil down to 44.5- 43.9 again which should lose some confidence in the loonie therefore strengthening my position some more, thats my strategy even tho know one asked

since last year they keep talking bout hike interest but in reality nothing! until now they keep making excuses.... why dollar is strong because of these doping market but until when? US just stop QE but didn't pull-out money. Dollar is over value.... right now they are eyeing for BOJ tomorrow expecting same as last year.
