MyFXCM.com is running but due to high volume not everyone can access the site at the same time. If you have trouble loading the site now, please try again later to complete the reset of your password.

My apologies Jason; just a bit frustrated. It seems my email address has been changed as well as I am not receiving the new password on my email though the forget password page confirms an email has been sent to me.

@Jason Rogers the best thing you SHOULD have done is to reset everybodies password and let them change it again one by one

As an fxcm customer, I experienced most of the above. All of this is understandable if you are attempting to get the issue resolved, in my opinion.
Does it suck?yes, but in fxcm's defense, I was finally able to get through to a live rep, (I experienced the live chat delays as well) walked me through
the password reset, used the email route to reset it, and I am up and trading. Unfortunately the hacking issue seems like it will
only increase in the future with the cybercriminals busy leapfrogging with the security teams. Having been hacked several times on various bank accts
(US banks) they all worked to restore prior status as diligently as possible, fxcm seems to be no exception. Be patient, keep trying and hopefully these
things will be resolved son.

Here is a link to an article from Reuters today. In part it says "All funds have been returned to the accounts that were compromised."

Today I cant log in my account.
I received an email from FXCM ask me to change. I cant change in the myfxcm.com and called FXCM in the phone. After that, I received an email to reset my account. The link worked and I changed, but I cant acess my account yet. The same message appears in the myfxcm.com site informing I cant loggin.
Can you help me please?

I think the big detail people are missing here is that when you initially fill out the account information in MYFXCM, they ask you for your banking information: bank name, routing numbers, and account numbers. I'm more concerned about a hacker having that information than anything else. So, regardless as to what FXCM says or does, all a hacker has to do is log into your MYFXCM account, click on "Bank Details" and copy the information. Of course, as poorly as FXCM communicates information, it's doubtful we'll ever know if that information was compromised for us.

Hi Bilstein,

Instead on focusing on what people are not told, don't you wonder how come you almost never have to do such a password reset on other sites ?

There are 2 possibilities :

  1. You only go to very secured website that have a strong enough protection so that they don't get hacked (kudos if that's the case)
  2. Or (and this is the most plausible) you also use many sites that are regularly under attack (with success or not) and the owner don't wish to communicate on it. And you live, as happily as the people you are criticizing, not knowing what others might know about your private life (banking account, phone number, addresses, etc. )

You never know what happens on the web unless people choose to communicate.

Of course, if i'm wrong and you

  1. only use ultra secured websites (which are not that secured since at least one person, and most time, many people know how to access private data without going through the whole security process)
  2. know everything that is happening on the web


Please accept my apologies.

And kudos to FXCM for their decision of communicating about the attack . They could have done the same as many sites did before them :

  1. Communicate about a technical problem
  2. Shut down site for a few hours/days
  3. Run security check up
  4. Open again website, asking people to reset passwords due to the "technical update" that was run
