basically the same wide diagonal I have put on for UNG. Instead of a weather spike I might say wti to $60 will have a chance if the cartel blinks

Nope, usually my time before noon I don't trade at all, watching my daughter... Very rarely I trade then. Usually I start about 2 hours before NYSE opens.

The lockup on 63% of Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) shares ended on Saturday, freeing up the company's largest shareholders to start selling stock beginning today.

With Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) still working out what to do with its 15% stake amid tax uncertainties, investors battered by the e-commerce company's $128.5B market slump are bracing for the worst, such as more shares hitting the market and driving prices even lower.
Billionaire founder Jack Ma and Vice Chairman Joseph Tsai have pledged to keep their stock, while analysts expect SoftBank (OTCPK:SFTBY) to hold onto its shares.

I see some volume on /ES Oct 2000/2020 call spread, for $7.00...

I was thinking about that spread (or maybe 2010/2030 or wider, working idea) to sell into the strength, since the end of the FOMC induced tail on weekly candle ends at ~2010.
Hope is dangerous in this game.

I need VXX to break $21 this week to make money on long puts.....sub $20 would be very nice....will need to stack up positive /ES days to get it...

Later some more volume for $8.00... I tried to sell for $8.00 CR... but didn't get a fill. About $6.50 now .
Scalped a bit, that was also poor (for mineral water expenses).

hm... nice down move now... biotech is going down big time

There is an idea from Shadow Trader, and I see over 100 volume on this combo...

GOOGL $20 wide Iron Fly, with 4DTE.
Sep25 645/665 665/685 for $11.30 CR... a bet that stock won't move much.

(I did couple of Iron Flies as ER's trades, on stocks that generally don't move much.)

(light bulb goes on above TF's grey head) - that's a good idea - of course, it's impossible to predict what crazy market will do, bit there are "predictable" low movement (low vol) periods just like there are predictable high vol periods.....

yes., with diagonals, too, even if they cost you a little....let them all run and let the double diagonal devolve into a wide strangle. The premise above was to set those up so that wide strangle is what you got expiring during ER week. I am still looking, trying to get into the new week....

I like iron flies, but more for plays where I just can't get enough juice out of an iron condor; most of the setups are 50/50 shots for max profit, but I usually take what I can get and run (usually 25% max).
Fireworks are fun ... as long as you don't blow your fingers off.
