They weren't right about $200 earlier this year....why would they be right about $20?

I dont know how can one come up with such forecasts, its ridiculous and i am sure if by some miracle oil does comes down to 20$ they will come up with new forecast of 2$ or of 200$

Although some may treat Goldman like they are god, they do occasionally get it wrong.

Though I'm curious, did you read the complete article.

I don't trade based on something someone else said (even Goldman) but it sure looks like $30 oil is a lot more likely than $90 oil any time soon. And if that is the case it wouldn't take much to get it into the 20's.

Russia said they see $38 this month and I believed Goldman also said we would see $38 this month. Now that Russia forecasts a lower oil price of $38 I believe. Russia does not want to see lower oil prices but if they said they see oil going to $38 then I bet we see $40 for sure which is another 10% lower from where we closed on Friday. Played right this month one could make a huge killing this month if oil indeed did go to $40 and someone bought short contracts.
Anyone here have the balls to take a big plunge on this for this month or next month? Summer is over, can not see winter prices as high as summer prices.

Russia starts a war against ISIS which can affect oil but i was thinking about something else. Have you thought why would ISIS attack russian base which will drag Russia into the war, and not only that but also to officially confirm that indeed they are responsible for the attack. This looks like ISIS not only want Russia to enter the war but are actually afraid that russians might decide not to so as precautionary measure they made the announcement to remove any unclarity and thus give Russia no choice.

The ball game changes if Russia enters the game with the war on ISIS. I doubt ISIS could take on Russia along with Syria,Iraq and Iran of which are all fighting against ISIS.

Nothing new with Russians in Syria - just more of them. Oil is still aplenty all over of the world. The key in the Middle East Saudi Arabia + Emirates and Qatar are all still stable.

The only thing that could possible turn Oil bullish (other than for a few days or maybe a couple of weeks) is a major war or the world's biggest economies to start growing strongly again.

Apart from the attack on a Russian base, the logic of which defeats me... I cannot see Russia getting involved. They have in the past verbally supported Bashar Assad and that is enough to keep them standing back. I can see the Russians using this as a convenient distraction while they continue their campaign in the Ukraine.

Today on the radio I heard some significant politico declaring that the refugee crisis, (or any other name you might give it) with people fleeing Syria, has now reached a magnitude that is causing problems in countries such as Germany. The blame for the cause of the problem was laid squarely at the feet of Assad and the problems in Syria, with the politico saying that 'he has to go'.

Shades of the Iraq war in 2003....

If things get really messy there I can see some smaller oil distribution being disrupted. The Kurd region exports by pipeline through Turkey.

Hello Friends,
I totally believe in the prophecy that crude oil is heading towards a fall but to the levels of $20 a barrel is more than a little doubtful. There will be a point when the prices would be stopped to fall beyond a point. I would say that oil is likely to find support at $35/barrel. No doubt, OPEC countries are pumping record volumes of oil along with Russia and mexico refusing to cut their oil production. With Iran coming soon into the over production group as soon as the sanctions are lifted from them, which Obama is in full support of, I see further supply glut. Moreover if FED increases the interest rates, I see USD becoming more stronger, leading to fall in demand of crude oil because oil will obviously become expensive for non USD holding countries. So, in short I personally don't see any strong reason to which crude prices can cling on and rise. Its definitely falling towards the $35 level by the end of 2015.
