Starting with Binary Options

Hello all!

I've been trading Forex for the past year with a little sucess but not too much, mostly very small profits. On my way to train myself in Forex trading I discovered Binary Options but after reading about it I thought that the 75 80 85 payout isn't enough if you have a bad streak that could hit your balance. So never thought about trying it.
But... during my holidays I did some research and found that Binary.com had payouts of 95> and even some times more than 100%.

I've opened a Demo and with the knowledge I had with Forex trading, for my amusement, I'm doing really really great. maybe it's luck? The thing is you can do a good analysis to the chart you really can make some money out of it.

So my questions are:

- Have this community use Binary.com? If not what brokers do you use?
- Binary.com uses proprietary software to manage the trades. Is there an open-source software (like MT4) for binary options? If there is it is any good?
- The most experienced users in binary options have some advices for someone who is starting?

I have made a search and there isn't a thread for starters in binary options, I thought that it would also be nice to have one with the major things that you could update in the first post!

Starting with binary options is probably a great way to also finish with binary options.

This forum isn't the best place to talk or learn about BO as you can see from the first comment you've received.
I presume that they are earning so much money in FX that want to protect you from other kind of unkown binary world.

Seriously speaking, in BO choosing the "right expiry time" - that aling you with the market sentiment of the moment - is more important than any other strategy. All my "loosers" were mainly from a wrong expiry time.
That's why you need a system to get at least a 70 % of accuracy and to be paid at least an average of 80 or 85 % for every won.

24options has a good platform but a very "poor" payments. In Top Option you can get an average of 80 % with the majors. Somebody here in FF recommend me Dukascopy ...I tell you next week if the've got payments like Binary.com

I had a Binary Options account for awhile. I started with $100 my peak was at $250 and then I lost that all in one day..

Only advice I can offer you is once you take that first balance hit, don't chase the wins. You only end up losing more and more.

However, I am by no means an experienced BO trader!

Maybe that's true, nevertheless is always one more experience in trading

On the research I made about binaries in dukascopy max payout is 90% and the they have a 85%/5%; 80%/10% meaning that if you lose you will receive 5%/10% of your bet. That's also a nice feature and it's dukascopy!

I would still prefere the payouts at Binary.com, my problem is that I don't have a feedback about them... But I'll wait for your confirmation

That could also happen in Forex trading... You have to train yourself and do some balance rules you can't go over in a day, for losses and also for gain. Being greedy can be anyone failure

Please! do NOT confuse binary options for investing!
binary options is just gambling, there is no way you EVER! can be a long term winner.

if you are new and want to start trading and you just have a small starting capital,
Forex is the way to go. if you have a lot of money, trade stocks or forex, or even learn to trade "real" options.
Binary options is NOT for investing! period!

But then just 1 year back i have also started doing Binary Options.

Yes the fact is true that you will not be able to get success in the Binary Options unless you know how to trade them.

But once you have a knowhow the chances of getting income are very easy...

Binary Options are a great way to lose money fast, I can see how some people do make money on them but the "brokers" just want volume as they take a near zero risk profit if they have balanced puts and calls.

Expiry timers were also my downfall, unlike FX / CFD you can't just put a stop in and let the market move you need to make sure you've got enough time on your option for the market to move but not too much time that it moves back.

The best binary options I found were week and month trades where you can close early but even then the upside is limited to 75 - 90% of your "bet" where as you can make hundreds of times your margin with a standard FX account.

I've just opened an account at Dukascopy. They have a 90% payout at all of the FX and Stock. That's enough for me. The binary platform is rather bad. Not bad bad but I've seen some way better than that one.
But Since I have opened a FX account also I use MT4 for the analysis and the make the option.
I believe that if you have the right tools you can predict where the market will be in 2-3 minutes (Specially if you only trade whitin trend like me)). Obviously you are going to miss some but that's ok.

In MT4 I mainly use CSDash to see the strongest pair in 5~15 min and analyze the trend in 1 min charts.

Binary option is riskier than forex. But yes it is quite possible to make long term success in Binary options. BO is completely different from forex. So when you try BO you will find things work different their than Forex. The strategy of forex will not work there. But BO is an easy way to make money for them who can trade well.

I tried binary options several times and I didn't work for me earlier. The main problem was I tried to chase the win to cover my losses. But now BO is working fine for me. Sometimes I have consecutive losses I just leave trading in such case and try again with small best next day and increase my betting amount with my confidence. For now I see BO is good for small investment and FX for the big investment.

I have tried many binary options but never satisfied with the profits which I earn while trading with Forex and I give all the credit to my present Broker. They helped me a lot in earning ample amount of Profits every month.

I cannot help since i've never traded binary option, btw MT4 is far from being called open-source software...

BO I found tricky simply because of the expiry time. What I did do how ever that made a huge amount of difference to my BO success was study how the week has its highs and lows and which time frame worked best.

What I noticed was with currencies especially is that using the hour time frame splitting the week into 5 separate 13 hour days with each day starting at 8am and finishing at 9pm was that if you had a high day (the day being from 8am to 9pm) the following day (8am to 9pm) would likely finish low and if not the following day.

The reason I did this is because simply the short time frames became more like gambling rather than a strategy with high chance of winning and I blew a few accounts and broke a few desk doing the classic shit my pants martingale... It was far to intense for me so I had to hippie it nicely to mellow pace man.

I looked at many brokers and eventually ended up using William hill day trader http://financials.williamhill.com/ because it is very much BO but with the advantage of placing trades a long way away from the current live price, cool huh.

Any how I will paste below what I have replied to in another post as this is how I am now trading for the past 4 years on forex with great success and you got share the love man. Maybe it will help you with your Binary options.

Relaxing hippie forex strategy

Here it is

2 Bollinger bands and no other indicators although you could add ema's etc to give you an edge if you wanted.

It is very straight forward, relaxing way to trade and works well on higher time frame and lower time frame for scalping although I trade 4 hour chart so I still get a life away from the computer.

2 Bollinger bands, 1 Bollinger bands setting period 100 deviation 2 and another Bollinger band set at 100 with a deviation 3.

When price hits deviation 3 wait for price to close back out of deviation 2 in either bullish or bearish it does not matter and look to take it to mid line, simples

I use 1/5th of my trade size as first position and I don't close if price goes against me because I know it will always go back to mid line, if price jumps back in between the two deviations don't close your first position and wait for price to once again close back out of deviation 2 at a later time and place your second postion, price always wants to recover and will always go back to the mid line at the very least.

Obviously expect a drawdown so don't go silly on your trade size but its always good man, so don't be afraid.

You can also Stack orders spaced at 100 pips apart on the 4 hour looking for it to settle back toward the mid line which it always does but I would not advise stacking orders on any lower time frames.

Another indicator does same job and that's the keltner channels setting 40/2 and 40/4 same rule applies wait for price to close back inside deviation 2 and ride that baby back to the mid line.

Also if you want to sit at your computer and get square eyes you can add 15 ema 30 ema and 60 ema. So while the price isn't going your way trade the trend and catch the high or lows been broken using ATR (average true range) setting 4 to give you the next high or low move when previous high or low gets broken.

The ATR setting 4 is really accurate for next pip move above/below the previous high or low which ever the trend is.

Remember there are about only 10 or something institutions that shift the money and it creates immediate havoc which people buy into hoping to get a huge profit then price suddenly turns so fast you can not alter things and have a screen full of confusing orders and it is just hell, don't waist your money for them, be smart and wait for the move to be over and flow down stream gently back to the mid line on a raft made of weed.

Binary option can be useful in some aspects but I prefer Forex Trading in place of any other Binary option, as it helps me a lot. All the credit goes to my broker.

I first started trading binaries a while back, a lil success but as all say those wins turned to losses. It's so easy to over trade and increase bid size! Binaries I would say is more of a make quick profits and run type of trading style. All brokers want your money and it's very hard to trade long term without them manipulating the trades. I've moved onto forex/stocks as I know binaries isn't worth the risk for me. But it's fun to throw a lil bit of money in and maybe double or triple it then take it out

exactly how would binary options be useful? show me any example and I will disprove it.

I am just saying that many traders trade with Binary Options and earn through it. Its their luck or whatever I don't have such skills and thus I prefer Forex Trading. I earn a lot through expert advice of my current broker.

Anyone interested in Binary Options strategy having 60-65% accuracy ?
I will provide backtest if someone is interested. It generates very few trades across 10 mins and 15 mins tenor but works perfectly across the several pairs. You can use it on brokers ( regulated ) with 75-80% payouts.
