i do use SL. And i put them where i believe price should not go if my decision is right. Use stop loss my friend.

I use a stop loss because it helps to control my losses. Very often I forgot the about the trade and lost a lot of money. And now I learned how to use a stop loss

Yes, it is always advisable for us to use Stop Losses in our trading.

I will keep the settings also in place in my Pending orders

But sometimes it is possible do otherwise. For example, if you have a negative balance, you can not stop loss of wait until the price goes the other way. There is a possibility to earn money.

1. I do not use stop-loss
2. it's because I mostly implement scalping where they're just senseless

I shall underline that it's risky but you're in interaction from the first till the last second

I bought the NZD/USD at 7710.8, at the end of April this year, with no stop loss. Needless to say , my account is doing fantastically well.............get the picture?..............

Thousands of traders who loss their money on Swiss at the beginning of this year will not get your picture mate. If you been stopped by SL too often its mean you don't know how to place them. OR you trade with Oanda

Without stoploss 1 movement like now in stocks or in CHF some months ago and you may be done trading, because if you get caught in the wrong side you wont have a trading account anymore to trade with. If I had to avoid using SLS I would place a very very small amount of my money into that account.

Well they should get my picture mate. Because under " normal " market conditions your stoploss is honoured . Yes when the chf thing happened liquidity dried up and stop losses could not be triggered. A very rare event. You can not base your trading career on very rare events . The chf event has fuck all to do with using or not using stoplosses. If you don't use a stop, you might get away with it for a while, but you WILL lose all your money.

I sold the GBP/AUD at 18392 in the middle of January this year, with no stop loss. My account is doing fantastically well....make sure you get the picture........

I always trade with stop loss) But imagine if you bought Dow Jon in 2014 without stop loss, you probably end in negative balance right now. Talking about rare event: 1 stop can wipe out all your winning. But this just a discussion. We all have personal vision on market. So i wish you all good luck with trading

I only trade with a stop loss. It is very risky to trade without them, the market is never stands and never can exactly say with certainty what will happen in the next minute.

If you use leverage, use a stop loss. That said, I have been stopped out many times, only to see the trade turn the other way...

Like they say, better safe than sorry. If you are working on a strategy with play money, maybe you can try without sl.

With that said, with real money and real account one must always use sl.
Meditate -> Workout -> Good Food = Good Life!

It depends on what kind of trader you are.

For Position Traders, it does not make sense to have a SL as they are ok with larger drawdowns compared to a day trader. A position trader will exit the trade at discretion.

For Swing Traders, a SL is optional; it is better to have a SL just to avoid the events like SnB and Black Monday or any dark day events. A swing trader will exit when the swing criteria has broken Or when a distant SL is hit. The trick here is choosing a SL for the swings anticipated; since most traders have no idea, they may just leave the SL open. A real bad idea!!!

For Day Traders/Scalpers a SL is must.

Each risk has to be justified. Each trading strategy should pay off. If your attention and patience, as well as assurances are large enough that you can trade without stop loss. but in general I think it is like to eat with a knife or not.

I use stop-loss almost always from the moment I go on real account. It is because I have a limited amount of money from the very beginning and I must exclude the possibility to come to nothing. I believe everyone should keep some amount, otherwise fx trading will just turn into money burning.
