If you read carefuly the news piece isn't saying anything at all. It is saying it could go up to 45/46 or fall to 39.

A rise to 45 is 3 dollars from the current price and a fall to 39 is ALSO 3 dollars from the current price. Typical CNBC = more drama than news.

I closed my longs from friday, i might have closed them too early since this move can go over 44$ but this morning they were at quite a loss so i am happy now i took some profit, hm now if we indeed continue higher i will be looking for shorting opportunity but for today i am done

edit: on the other side we have 9 weeks in a row of decline without this week so i expect this week to close on green (to be honest i expected last week to close on green which is above 44$ but it didn't happen)

I think we will get close to $44 and then resume down, storage news tomorrow and still a massive oversupply that isn't showing signs of easing

Good way to lose money. Expect an up move just because .... 9 weeks in a row of decline.
Is there some market law I haven't heard of that says 10 in a row can't happen?

Noone said anything about something being impossible, now is it really to critisize me without any constructivnes the best thing you can say about crude ? Atleast you could have said you view if you have one

You said you expected it to close in the green simply because it had been down so many weeks in a row.

Is that constructive?

Listening to the radio I heard the (female !!) Iranian politico talking about the nuclear agreement and the other things that are contingent thereon.

She said that Iran does not want to remain on the outside of the world stage, and suffer all the trade restrictions and other business difficulties that accompany that situation. There is a strong movement within the governmental circles to agree and comply with requests from the US and elsewhere and to be seen to comply with monitoring and transparency over the nuclear issue, and thus return Iran to being a world player.

So I think Oil is heading to $20, I just don't know how bumpy the ride will be.....

Add to the news chinas stock market woes. It fell again yesterday. After todays news release I hope to see a more definitive move.

I find $20 hard to imagine but with the current situation it could be possible, as USD grows in strength over other producing nations their production costs go down (I read that Canada has seen a 20% reduction in costs this year) mix that in with the over supply and the introduction of Iran to the market place and well we could get there...........I guess if the Iran deal fails to pass congress the outlook may change after all they are claiming "deal or war" and as we all know war is good for oil prices

Options expire this week for the monthly oil contracts. Would hate to be holding anything today or tomorrow. Wish the contracts did not expire every month on Forex then one could just open a short position and sleep on them for a few months until target price hits. They make it difficult for one to earn money. I will most likely open another short position next Monday.

I think OANDA never closes your position. I asked them some time back and that is what they told. You may want to ask them again and then update us here.

we're heading into the 3 handle for crude. no economic indicator signals going higher from here.
chine demand down, peak demand season over in western hemisphere, oversupplied even as prices fall further.

no ones buying within january time frame. there is volume coming in for feb, march and april of 2016 for long crude but thats a prayer
