Beware the only broker who do their own investigation to report you to the regulators. This means that they not only do not hedge your position but essentially betting against you and also does not take your interest at heart. What happened to their fiduciary responsibility?

a little too much bullshit from you.

Brokers like any financial institutions conduct KYC and AML (you better google them up) to actually safeguard the company and the company's clients' interest. imagine if they neglected those investigation and corrupt money gets laundered within a broker. the broker can be fined/or shut down by regulators if they do not comply with rules and regulatiosn related to Anti-money laundering policy and policy on dealing with Sanctioned countries/individuals.

Next question at hand is your ignorance of the brokerage industry.
when you trade forex, theres always a counter party that will take the opposite position against you, just a question of whether your broker is the one taking the position or the liquidity provider/market makers being the one to take opposite positions. if theres no market maker or liquidity providers or Brokers who bet against you, your orders wont get executed. and you wont be able to make any trades.

Now. down to the question of brokers betting against the clients. Brokers have 2 options when they received a client's trade order.
1. they either fill your position (essentially betting against you) since your bid is their offer.
2. Or the broker who things the position you're filling is not a good one to bet against you, they might look to fill your order mark-to-market wise. by sending your order to the interbank market to see if any liquidity providers or market makers (banks mostly) would fill your order instead of the broker themselves, brokers would give up the right to earn the money you lose, but they earn their share from commissions. but they transferred the risk to the banks.

Perhaps you should read a bit more instead of ignorantly thinking that brokers who bet against clients is a bad thing.....

lol if youre in Australia you must have heard about the 2 guys that were jailed for insider trading while trading with Pepperstone (while I do not support insider trading). The fact that Pepperstone management went out of their way to investigate their client through Linkedin does not sit well with me. They have a responsibility to report suspicious activities but not to do their own investigation (it does not serve their interest unless they did not hedge their trades and were losing too much money because of these guys).

In regard to hedging or betting against you, they have 2 books (winners and losers). They will hedge the winning traders or the position is too large for them take the opposite position (risk management). And they will bet against the losers. But they do not think whether the position is a good or bad one and decide whether to hedge or not, its not in their business to speculate.

Now if you think betting against the client provides liquidity then youre crazy because the FX market is probably the most liquid financial market in the world. Your 1 contract with your broker aint gonna move the market.

Toronto here. Latency to Pepper's servers in NY4 (NJ, next to NYC,) is very minimal for MT4, and there's a cTrader relay in NYC as well. All snappy.

thank you for the response guys, about to sign up with them in September. Any concerns or anything I should know before going with them? my main concern was the connection speed from their servers and I guess there is no problems with that.

Execution speed is good for pepperstone, for Canada traders.

When economic event occurs, there may be slippages.
