I opened my first account with them about 1 1/2 years ago before they were associated with refco. I always got great fills and guaranteed stop loss orders. I closed the account and was promptly wired my $$. I think they are as good as or better a risk as any other broker as far as financial stability.

I also have an open account with them. So far I have had no problems. I am actually very satisfied.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

<o> </o>

Concerning refco, the info that I have is that ACM has no business left with them.<o></o>

I actually checked them up before opening the account and they seem very legit. They have been growing steadily and I personally believe that they will be the new #1 soon, as I am hearing more and more persons unhappy with FXCM (slippage). <o></o>

<o> </o>

I specially enjoy that ACM they always guarantees the stop & limit orders. No one else does that, main choice for my decision.<o></o>

Cheers <o></o>

I read those reviews and was surprised because I have a friend who has quite a bit of money with them that he actively trades. I asked him again how it was with them and said he likes them and he is very happy.

They no longer have any affiliation with Refco. The owners made some smart quick moves with the stock, and divested themselves from Refco. That's the gist of the story I heard, although I've forgotten the details.

Some people in the past have said that ACM practises "individual pricing" - so you don't really get the claimed spreads.

I have no direct experience, so I don't know if this was/is true or just a rumour.

I wouldn't believe anything on that site. All I read is broker flame and scam, scam, scam.. it looks like copy & paste scam posts for all brokers.. that site is crap and better listen to people who have actual experience with them.

Hmmm.. With the greatest of respect for yourself, good sir, I disagree.

I could post further but as now no-one will know what we're talking about or to which site we refer it seems inappropriate within the context of this thread.

It's alright SMjones. I understand. They should have used another word other than " scam "
To Picolo, I would not contest the experiences of the individuals who gave their comments on that site. There were many brokers who were "slaughtered " here in FF but still given a balanced opinion there by fellow traders.
The highly rated brokers in FF were also highly rated there. FXsol, Ouada...etc

I have direct experience, so I will add my thoughts.

ACM was the first spot Forex broker I ever used. This was no coincidence, because I think ACM preys on noobies. My account was closed within 1 month by ACM for "improper trading". I will list my problems:

1) The demo price feed is absolutely nothing like the real feed. The demo has periodic high and low spikes that don't exist in real life.
2) I recieved frequent re-quotes on live trades, despite their advertisement (at the time at least) of WYSIWYG trades.
3) Their price feed was slow, and communication with their servers was slow.
4) My account was closed without warning. I logged into my account one day to find my account disabled, with no communication from the company. When I finally had an online chat with someone, they claimed I was scalping, and that my account was closed automatically. They did however wire my funds promptly.

Also important to note that Forex has almost no regulation nor oversight in Switzerland. Even less so than in the US.

I have an account with them.
I have noticed no change to their platform since using them as a demo for nearly 4 months.....oh sorry, there is one 'minor' difference....spread on this mornings UK CPI figure was nearly 30 pips.
I never saw spreads like that on demo. But guess you never do, that is the idea afterall, people want your business.
So to repeat what has been said before, demo 'v' real life.....always different.
If you don't news trade/scalp, no problems.
No link to refco anymore.
They do not seperate your money from their accounts, and retain the right to use your 'dosh' for their own business purposes.

I will check the US spread this a.m too and post later.
