Mathtrader, Codar and all those who made wonderful contributions to this great system, I thank you all... I took out time this morning and read from post 1 page 1 till now and I want to say thanks again I hope to load up the indicators and try it right away I will likely update on how i fare and any difficulties or successes. I guess i should just go straight to the ea, since i joined when the manual trading has been kind of replaced by the ea, that is if i understand the last posts well. Hope to be around here any advices are always welcomed...

I advise you to learn how to trade manually first since we just got this EA yesterday. Just download MathTrader7_RenkoChartCreatorEA.ex4 - save to your Experts folder, apply it to M1 chart and indicator MathTrader7_ATRBands_with_Alerts.ex4 - save to Indicators and apply this attached template to your M2 offline chart. Template adds nothing more than colored bars.

Or, if you want to use EA, then download MathTrader7_RenkoBT_EA.ex4 from the first page and apply to M2 offline chart, also hit F8 and uncheck offline chart in properties.

Just to add to that, I think since now MathTrader7_RenkoChartCreatorEA generates gapless candles, there is a delay between my old setup (time-lapse recordings) and when trades are opened. Is this normal? I've tried to use BT EA on old RenkoChartCreator and it says it requires gapless candles.

Sorry for my previous observation, there is no delay, just some phantom trades opened right when the EA is applied. And candles now have wicks - I guess this is normal.

BTW, Mathtrader, what setup for time-lapse recording would be the best for troubleshooting? Should I apply both indicator and BT EA since EA doesn't give alerts nor it draws lines? I can also post daily videos if it helps.

I think the best setup for debugging purposes is to attach the indicator (with alerts) and the EA to few charts (4 majors, for example) and record the trades. If you upload the results (recorded video) daily, I may find the problems/bugs faster.

Thanks for your great help!

good morning.
Bollinger bands can be replaced by TMA bands?
the system would:
Buy: when the price breaks the lower line upstream and middle band is green.
Sell: when the price breaks down the top line and middle band is red.
sell half of the position across the middle band (and put BE) and sell the other half across the upper band.

very thanks for your work Mathtrader.

Here is the first day with EA. As you can see, not much profit, but it opens trades correctly.
Only thing is that I would like to implement option to close the trade when the PA hits the opposite line - see EURUSD trade.

This is ver 1.10, default settings except for Trading time which is 0-24 for purpose of testing only.

Hi Codar,

Are the trades opening correctly as they would manually? Because your other weeks you had alot of success.

Also, from watching your time lapse video right from the beginning I see bounce trades that are entering 2-3 bars below, sometimes I see trades entering without even looking like it's bouncing off of anything?

Aren't the rules enter the first brick after the bounce? Or did these rules change?

Or is this just massive amounts of slippage?

Thanks

Trades are openning fine, but they don't close when the PA hits the other line. Mathtrader is there a way to remove current exit strategy and just leave the trade to either hit SL or the opposite line?

This is recording for today, June 29th, news made some loses, decline in profit continues...

Looks like EA opens up some leftover trades when first started, ignore that, I think we will be able to fix it.

There is a plan to add a news filter correct? To stop trading before or after news?

I'm not sure if news filter can even be implemented, if it can we'll live it for later.
Maybe instead we could have 2 or 3 trading time "zones" and then you would set when the EA is allowed to trade for the next day. There is also a question what to do with open trades before news.

I'm not a programmer so I don't know what Mathtrader is able to implement and I don't want to pressure him right now.

Right now there are three methods for exit trades:
1) SL hits;
2) TP hits;
3) an opposite entry condition occurs.

You can set the TP=0 in order to disable the EA to set any TP level. For hitting the opposite band, I need to implement it...

Hi Mathtrader7
I have been testing a strategy from "Forex Strategies Revealed" that proposes you setup the RSI indicator at 3 with levels at 80 and 20 and a stoch indicator at default with levels at 30 and 70 on a daily chart and wait to trade when RSI pierces the assigned levels then we look at Stoch and wait for a cross beyond it's assigned levels and set the trade. I set this up on the renko charts and it looks good for entries rather than waiting for a close outside the ATR bands. They don't seem to happen frequently enough whereas the RSI, Stoch seems to correspond nicely with the lows and highs of the renko chart. Please see attached chart.

My close would be when RSI goes beyond opposite level...

You know what, this exit strategy is OK: close when opposite entry conditions occurs.
Maybe instead implement trailing stop.

Regarding news avoidance, right now before news event, I would need to turn off autotrading, close trades manually and then after news I would need to re-open all charts and set everything. Would it be possible that we have an external txt file that all six EAs could read from in which we could enter the time period we want to avoid trading and do this once a day. Basically, is it possible to make something so we wouldn't need to stop multiple EAs and reset everything?

Version 1.20 of the EA released. In this version trailing stop functionality is implemented. I updated Post 1.

I added trailing stop functionality in Version 1.20. For avoiding news, a simple solution that I can afford to implement is to add two buttons on the chart as <Close Position> and <Enable/Disable EA>. In this case, you can manually disable EA before news, close the current position if any, and re-enable the EA after news. I will release new version with these buttons.

For more advanced news filtering, I may be able to do something later, since I'm quite busy these days.
