I am not a news trader and this is wrong place for one. My prospects are better with GU that's why I trade that. Besides, I have open positions that I have hedged and hence volatility is the key to recovery.

OMG, you imposed position "locks" for unwillingness take trade losses?
if this is true you will need learn.
Is not clever make paper losses and trap yourself in corner you cannot get out of.
If you make mistake in 1 decision, what makes you think you can salvage the position that needs 2 execellent decisions escape?

Only hedgers with physical positions requires hedge.
How can a speculating trader needs a hedge?

Truth is your loss is already booked. Only your capital is still in jail, all locked up.
you are creating for your mind position conflicts of interest only, and wasting resources.
please read thread, already explained.
If you are dependant on your losses for capital to reposition then you r book had been over exposed.
Is between a hard place and the rocks situation.
Few survives it. YOu will need be extremely lucky survive.
And In trading Luck is not something anyone can depend on.

remember, there is no such thing as a lock/hedge for speculation. Is book suicidal.
This is because if one hedges, its because mostly capital or resources problem.
And one will be on position carry on the wrong side of the trend curve.
If one opens the "hedge" one need a trend reversal with correct timing reopen exposure timing.
Is asking too much, needs be extremely lucky. And i no believe in lucky.

Lucky is for peeps consistently managing the trend curve.
Once a while you may drop a few coins.
Trick is never to allow it direct you thinking.
when ever one institute a hedge. Is already a loss booked but unrealised.
worst is it created situation where you only have 1 way out, and that requires 2 correct decisions.
No trader can makes correct decisions, Only ability ride or ability scalp.

if my advice is of any value.
Book the dang loss. Free your mind
Free your capital.
Replenish working cap and trade nimbly recover the loss.
and never ever hedge again.

If experience loss, never wait for it gets painful before cut.
Set limits of trade size exposures and loss limits.
