Collected some pips from Dax but it was hard work. So decided to turn my eye to WTI (Light crude I think). Moves in nice waves. Works well on Renko {image} Gained more pips than with Dax and with less work! Hope it's off interest to someone.

+180 pips is a respectable days work and no loses. especially on a day like today.

Why do you hate the DAX? it is so generous!

I hate the dax so to speak, but it makes me really angry.
it is out of my tactical schemes and I can not get it well.
in the last days started with a considerable gap down, twice, and I can not read well the trend looking HTF, (follow the main trend? recover the gap?)
so I can only go with really short (time) positions with a lot of anxiety. and this makes me angry.
an instrument quite nervous... I still have to work a lot on..

{quote} Hi Dee50, the very first few pages of this thread he was following this system in a very simple format, im not talking about his thread and what he is doing now, i read the thread from the beginning and didnt just jump here to the end, hence i downloaded the indicators he provided at the beginning of this thread, i see above that you have helped scalpforex, im looking for a chart thats as simplified as his,my brain power is limited and just crashes on me when it sees too many indicators on a chart if you can direct me to the posts where...

use Jaquemate's method, there are no indicators at all which should free up some of your brain capacity. And if you avoid using S&R levels and BRNs oh and I would definitely stay away from Fibs they can really clutter a chart up. yes I would definitely recommend that you follow Jaquemate's method, nice clean chart just simple trend lines sounds like it would be perfect for your state of mind.

If you have been watching the traders on the Carpe Diem thread you might have noticed that their analysis rarely goes beyond the "next level" that price will move to, very rarely have I seen any of them predict where it will be the next day, it is an instrument that appears to be affected by sentiment much more than technical levels.

Your strength is your natural ability to analyse and predict, if you are not comfortable with the DAX I would suggest that you leave it alone, you certainly have the ability to get the pips you want from more predictable instruments and feeling "comfortable" with what you are trading is important.

Hey guys i downloaded indicators from Clivepackham yesterday it was working fine but then i thought this thing is making new bars way too quickly and then i realised because my broker is using the 5 decimal place system it was making new bars every 5 pipettes so when i tried to change my renkos to 50 pipettes which is 5 pips, the whole thing just froze, i closed and opened MT again and it would not do anything i then disconnected the internet connection opened MT and closed those charts, connected to internet and it was working fine, i than done...

Hey Bugattiboy!
Not sure if I understand the problem. If you have downloaded clive's indicators and not mine, then i don't think you will be able to load Dee50's template given that you don't have the required indicators.

So I'll take it that you have downloaded the indicators and templates that i have posted and extracted the files to where they belong. Meaning indicators to indicators folder, templates to templates folder and expert to expert folder.

By now you should have all the files that you need to load a renko chart. I will do a step-by-step tutorial so none of us get confused. (Assuming now that you have followed the instructions that i posted earlier and still can't get it to work.)

1. Here is a clean chart of EURUSD M1.

2. Go to Expert Advisor and drag renkolivecharts_pimped_v4_13 over to the chart. The EA wil pop up. Make sure your settings look like this on both "Inputs" and "Common" tab. Remember to click OK.

Inputs:

Common:

3. You will see those texts on the chart.

If you don't see those texts, that means you have have loaded multiple charts with the same timeframe(in this case M3). That won't work. You can only open 1 renko chart per timeframe. Meaning that you can't open two of M3 or M10 etc.

4. Go to File->Open Offline and open EURUSD M3.

5. You have now successfully loaded renko to a chart.

thanks dee,
I really appreciate your comment and advice.

indeed, I followed that 3d but I did not understood their way of thinking ...
actions seemed to me 'random', (like -3 days ago I saw a big green candle on a daily, then today I expect a similar one- )
...but in their way of seeing things, they are winning..! (some particularly)
and, off course, i see you ride dax like a cowboy in a rodeo !
then, I'm the one who does not see with the right eye.

you're absolutely right
but I know myself ... I'm pretty stubborn..

Dee,

Why have you only traded LONG? Is there a clue to this decision on the charts?

There was an obvious SHORT, as seen on the attached chart, why did you let that one go? In the past you have been quite nimble to trade in any direction.

Just interested.......

H4 & H1 & 10pip Div @BRN & Key S&R to start the day, there after, a rising channel & sentiment is expecting a solution to the Greek situation. Depending how you saw the situation you could have traded any way you like, I opted for long only because of the HTF. In short nothing really tangible, I just felt that the Longs had more support than the shorts.

DAX30. I wonder. Just looked up above to see how far the next level is, it is only 65 pips away and there is confluence of a 123 200%Exp and a key S&R, what do you think, wait for a pullback, see how deep the pullback is and then decide if the run up is likely, enter with 2 lots and take 1 off half way to pay for the trade, what do you reckon.

Leave you to ponder it.

Hi Dee,

Great Trading again, head is spinning a bit but learning so much, mostly to stop over analysing charts and seeing indications of direction which are not really there !!!. Can I ask a quick question about S&R, are you drawing these directly from the Renko charts or are you overlaying the S&R from another chart eg Daily or 4H. I ask as I have pivot points coming out roughly around the same points as yourself and it got me thinking....

Cheers...Des

DON'T CLAIM TO HAVE READ THE THREAD. How stupid do you think we are. This really pisses me off because it is insulting to all of those who have made the effort to learn by actually taking the time to read what is actually, not a very large thread by FF standards. If you are too lazy to read the thread to learn, you are too lazy to be a Trader, why do you expect some one else to give their valuable time when you are not prepared to give any of your time to learning, it is disrespectful.

here is an example of what I mean. "How do you set up Renko charts"

The thread was started on the 18th November 2014.

"Can not get the renko chart to work" a number of traders were having problems with the 1st EA. An alternate EA was put forward as a solution. Renklivecharts pimped v4.13.

I transfer S&R levels from the HTF. Daily, H4, I also use the 10pip chart to identify short term S&R levels.
