just bought oil at 56.57, targeting only 20 to 30 pips out of this ....
seems like it will keep the down trend for a while.

Yes you are right, i went out fast...Its just that when you see a drop from 59 to 56 in one day, you hope for the breakout ...

I prefer to wait for a reversal to happen. Market is always right. I'm not.

I have noticed that oil price has a characteristic pattern repeating on all timescales in a fractal manner. The pattern consists of a minimum, followed by a rise in price, then a wider triple minimum, typically at the same price level as the previous minimum, then a rise in price, which is then followed by a sharp drop, usually not to the full extent of the first two minima, and an equally rapid return. On the weekly scale we are now imo at the third sharp drop. The big reversal may occur after quite some time, perhaps down at 50, or lower. I would not be buying these days.
You can see this cycle occuring on Brent from Feb 16 till March 03 for example.
Also the big changes in price usually occur in harmony with the cycle, so it may be that the drop continues and makes a new minimum for example or that after this drop there could be a massive rally. But this piece of a cycle probably must finish first. In other words the price can be thought of to be the sum of these irregular cycles, and when two cycles at different timescales interfere constructively, their effect amplifies.

I got a feeling we will be testing low $40's again before the end of this year. What sucks is that options expire every month so it is hard to just short and sit on them lon term. It zig zags hard before it gets to its target price taking out both shorts and bulls.

We all make bad trade. If the reason was valid (?) don't worry about.

If it wasn't learned from it and not use faulty reasoning the next time.

I think the reversal is happening in oil which could result in an uptrend for days. I start buying.

Seems like long Oil ( WTI or Brent ) is no option this summer or way to risky.
I stick on Nat. Gas. 2.70 should hold.
