One trade on the DTDT LTF system today (EY) and lost 30 pips. As usual, indicators repainted and now shows a good setup. I'm on the sidelines now.

Dear Moonie,

I'm stil newbie, but I learned something today. As you can see it's trading near the support level of today. It needs a clean brake to get lower levels. It's most likely to bounce on it. If theres no big 'impact news' it's going to bounce. Also you see a straight run towards it. (Only red bars) If you throw a ball hard against the wall it will come back hard. (Newbie vision)

EJ m30 chart attached showing where my entry could/would have been.

Obviously our charts llok different, but both contain the same tools, but different settings to suit my requirements, plus a a couple of others I prefer to use.

Anyway chart attached purely for your comparison

The latest of DTDT_LTF is far better --Post#2962


I use trend H4 ( 5/10 ema cross up/down -- no repaint)

M30 : Take a signal when price stalls in the wave and dot appears

M5 : Try entering if possible close to the channel ( zone to reverse)

If you put the daily pivot point in your analysis like adding more ketchup in french fried.--- help a lot

Hi guys,

When using the indicators in my view :

GRaB candles Long : Candles paints in Blue -- Price closes above the wave (34 ema, HLC)

GRaB candles range : Candles paints in White -- Price closes in the wave (34 ema, HLC)

GRaB candles Red : Candles paints in Red -- Price closes below the wave (34 ema, HLC)

But this is not important. Here, I want to use the wave to see price retraces in and the dot appears.

Hi Moonie,

First, I am sorry about your bad trade. Second, I want to comment on the system and trading.

The system is based on TMA and fractals ( and trend ). TMA and fractals repaint, naturally. So the TradeMonitor repaints as well, by monitoring repainting indicators.

Now, why do people out there use repainting indicators when the whole world knows, non repainters would be better ? Because they work. At the moment you enter a trade one information counts most. The status of the price and it's indicators in the column of the last closed candle. Would this status be much better with nrp indis ? probably not.

A trade went wrong. Happens all the times and you stay at the sidelines. What are you doing there ? Waiting for a nrp TMA ? Waiting for the super indi on top of everything that this cannot happen anymore ? Such a thing does not exist.

Your chart contains a lot of information. Learn to read it and learn to trade with it if you want. Be ( very ) careful with your entries. Getting stopped out by 30 pips would mean 1 1/2 days wasted work time for me ( i currently cannot make more than 20 pips net every day, avg. ). Every system needs a trader, not an operator.

And, in addition to what i wrote before: If you have not already asked yourself, how do i handle stop losses, how do i act when a trade turns against me, ask yourself now. nobody will advise you there but you have options. imo a important part of trading.

Thanks for the reply Verified. I think we're missing the 'elephant in the room' actually. The basic truth is that indicators are merely reflecting on past price action not the other way round. Repainting indicators are merely a way to make a chart look like the indicator picked out every perfect setup when you look left. My most successful Sai Ram system was the ATM, which is what I am reverting to now. 20 pip TP seemed to work quite a lot.

Absolutely Verified, I appreciate, indicator designers have nothing but the best intensions at heart, but why change the colour of a bar after price has made a move in a different direction, who does this benefit? When I look at a new indicator, if it shows every price turning point, I immediately treat it with suspicion. The Fiji indicator is a good example. It leaves the arrow when price moves against it, often putting the opposite arrow on the next candle. This often tells me more than when it just dissapears like nothing has happened.

Anything on a chart is the past ... not only the indicators ... but also the candles. Each incoming tick is already the past. A tick is the result of an action occured ...

Hi Moonie,
The TMA not only shows signal, also the current trend, in your case the purple bars, that is a downtrend, also you need to read the candles, before you took the trade, where you set your trade, it was a weak bullish candle against strongs bearish candles. Please, try M5 for lower SL. Regards
