Are you on FXtrade or game? I think game is more overloaded than fxtrade, its usually slower for me.

I am on FXtrade (real account) and I had a little trouble logging on around noon EST. After a reboot and a little patience it went through just fine.

Yea, cheese, I had problems with my FXTRADE again. Fortunately I was positioned to profit. I am not happy at all. Now is not the time to go into details. But while I'm sorry to hear you had problems, I'm also glad I wasn't the only one, cause it sure does feel that way, when your internet is strong like bull, with redundancy, and you can't manage your profitable trades and your broker tells you, "everything is great here, try your internet connection".

More info to come at another time.

Last night before I went to bed (on the West coast), I tried to set a couple of short positions on Cable and Euro. Just as I clicked OK for the second one the server crashed (or something to that extent). I wasn't sure if the order took or not but I logged in this morning and it took profit. The good thing was that it happened right after I placed my orders but it could have happened at a more annoying time. It had happened before but I'm not sure what the situation is usually with other brokers so I can't really say if it's that bad with Oanda. Otherwise, I like their service albeit with poor charting facilities. Recently, though, I've had problems logging in more frequently. I've assumed it's a corrupt Java cache and cleared my computer files each time but then again, I can't be sure what the real problem is....

Ignored
This is something I asked the Oanda Chat support. My concern was that I would have a position open, lose connectivity and wish to close it. Their answer is/was:

Disliked
"As a 100% automated platform, FXTrade does not offer a phone trading option, therefore if the problem was connectivity issue on your end then we are unable to do anything. That is why we recommend using features such as SL and TP."

It is another reason to Use SL and TP as stated, though I admit I was disappointed tha I could not close via a phone call - at least I know and can plan for this type of event.
In trading, there is no bullshit. You either make money or you don't.

The platform disconected me. I've called to customer support and they say to clear my browser cache. I did that. It didn't work
Now I'm trying to call them again, guess what, number busy!!!

What's that?

I can't log in either... and I'm not talking about the "game". My platform froze at the 8:30 EST news announcement, and as of 9:00 EST I still can't get in.

This is very disappointing. I expected better from OANDA...

Edit: Back into the platform at 9:05 EST. For some reason, this felt different from the usual "freeze the platform button" that FXCM, etc. have... but it still has the same result.

Have a great weekend all.

Oh, and by the way, I know Johndoe is not gonna like this, but I monitored MB trading today. Wow! Looks good.

I had that SAME EXACT PROBLEM!!!

I had a trade in at 8:30 am today, closed it at 8:31. I also had one new window up with my positions on where i would exit. When i made a trade with that new window, the window disappeared! Luckly i had my main window open so i can watch my trade, made about 13-14 pips. Then i logged off, when i tried to log on agian 5 min later, i couldnt, even though its a demo, i was not pleased! Did anyone have this problem? Either with a live or demo account?

This problem has been consistant lately, hopefully oanda can fix it, so we call cna trade.

- J

Could Oanda be another broker that is closing the door on traders during news time?

If thats the case, then all of my hard work researching news trading has gone to nothing. Other brokers dont fill orders on time (MBtrading didnt fill my order this morning for about 45 sec!). Oanda better shape up, or they will lose alot of news traders (which is a good thing for them no?). As news traders spreads the word of Oanda being another FXCM, then their rating will be LOW!

Yes, I too am on FXTrade with a live account. I got kicked off this morning as well not too long after the US Retail Sales numbers came out, and others I was talking to that was also trading at the time also got kicked out. It is definitely frustrating.

Yes I was kicked off as well and it took a while to get back in. In addition, when I called customer service I could not get thru for a while busy signal or all circuits busy. then when they finally answer they say everything is fine - must be internet provider - YEAH RIGHT - at news time

Same problem here.

FXTrade disconnected me with my opened order and my initial cut lost was hit later. Before this there were some glitches which made me lost my 30pips profit from sky dive incurred by the news. Very bad experiences with Oanda.
