Hi dee50, I've read the whole 3d and the PDF related to HGI indicator. I'm testing it for about a week, I wanted to know if you used it in a different way with the renko chart. I did not mean to ask you to explain how it works or how to use the indicator, sorry for the misunderstanding.

That is a completely different way of putting it.

The only setting to change is "useHurstFilter" set it to "True" this will reduce the number of false signals.

Do not bother to scroll back in time, the indicator repaints worse than Picasso, you are only interested in the signals Now. So the only way to test it is to Forward Test manually.

HGI is designed with intention to be used primary on H4 timeframe. Regarding renko (5 pips) charts I found it works best on cross pairs (like EURAUD for example). Pay special attention to blue wavy lines. But be aware, everytime you reload terminal, change timeframe or reinitialize indicator - it repaints.
Thanks very much for the info. I have read thru the thread now and there is very little information about using the Indi on lower time frames, because mainly as you say, the Indi was developed for the 4hr TF using standard candles.

"Repaints" is an understatement, but a little extra research revealed that the TMA indicator, on which the HGI is based, is notorious for repainting, however, the signals when they first present are very accurate.

I would agree with you that the "wavy lines" are more accurate than the "arrows" large and small but if you combine what we have learnt here with the HGI signals and use each method to confirm the other then we have one hell of a trading method.

Is that the TMA Channel I see?? You might want to try the Hurst Channel just for fun. I personally am not as I found mentally it made me limit my TPs to the channel rather than the S&R levels. But it was interesting to see Hurst's concept in action.

It's Bollinger Bands, (100,2), but I'll have a look at the Hurst, thanks.

Couldn't quite make it back to Y's low yet.

EU +23. EU +25. I had the second trade set to take 1st TP @25pips but divergence made me close both parts, as it turns out my Tsl would have been taken out any way, so for the moment I am neutral. HTF stochs is showing a potential reversal but until I get a more definite signal I am staying out.

EU-2+21+6+25+34. YES, there is a loser in there, the Trade Manager did not move SL to B/E, I spotted it but I could not close in time to avoid the loss. I changed to 5 pip bars because I was jumping at every divergence that was coming up on the 3 pip chart.

Great to see a small loser, proves you are human..
I currently prefer the 5 pip bars as there is too much noise for me on the 3 pippers.
Quick news trade was over in 5 mins while I was having lunch, closed when the 50 level/T's Open was being rejected just in case it decided to shoot off the other way.

when a close position with, say, +6,
you may base an exit on a fall of momentum? which light comes on in your brain?

hi trading-kid,
I have always worked only on eu, looking only at the PA and S / r.
But lately I'm implementing even a quick look at dxy, for more confirmation (if you can call it) on the behavior of dollar.
if you look this post #1721 (I do not know how to link the post)
with the htf trendline on dxy,
we could expect a bounce,
possible resulting in recovery of dollar strength.
being eu on a resistance level I was expecting short pos
but for me it's just one more thing to be monitored.

I can tell by looking at your charts that you haven't got it set up correctly. The giveaway is that you haven't got a in the top right hand corner. You've got a instead. There's loads of info in here, on youtube or google on how to set up properly. And why you are using H1 I don't know.
