Here is the cAlgo bot I trade with. You can download it from cutous.net easily double your capital in one month if you have a high risk appetite. Or just coast along with 50percent (or even 10%)

the idea is sound. application perhaps can be improved. funny how someone can post a great idea that is on the right path to being the grail and people would still bash it and ignore it for some reason. too bad. What is wrong with people. I'd love to see this done completely. Thanks for sharing a great idea! keep up the good work!

I have been trying to optimize this bot according to his video, but so far I keep getting parameters that have 0 trades. All of them.

I installed the indicator he mentions from here: http://ctdn.com/algos/indicators/show/319 and have tried 3 different pairs with no results. Can anybody give me any suggestions?

I can assure you this is not a martingale. It is not a black swan. You can read through the research at cutous.net

If you're worried about the equity, there is a better example on the homepage. You must use it properly.

The KST Oscillator does not have to be installed separately. Everything is contained in the one file you received. You just need to install this one file.

With this trial you can only optimize a few weeks at a time


1. Make sure you are on 2 minute timeframe

2. Try to optimize 1 week only (but this is not enough to trade effectively, as this is only a trial)

Once you have cAlgo installed it will put the file in the right place when you double click the file. It only works on cAlgo, which must be installed first

As you can tell I'm not interested in the money of this sale, like most martingales and "insider courses", because I've been banned once from FF for content, and for all I care I could be banned again, it would make no difference.

50percent. Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, that alone does not make a difference in the optimization. Results keep coming out with 0 trades. I have tried it on 2 different accounts and same results. Can you specifically try to optimize the exact file you send out to us for testing and make sure that you can get it to work as well? That way I can be sure it is something on my end or if it may be something with the file perhaps.

SOLUTION: Set the volume to 10.


In our correspondence via email, it looks like we solved your problem. The trade volume was too small. The default volume is 1k of a currency (0.01 lots). Some brokers only do a minimum of 10k (0.1 lots) and so you need to set the volume to 10 for them. If you leave the volume as default 1 instead of 10 the backtest optimization will give zero because the broker won't accept the micro lot (0.01 lot)

The Oscillator simplifies the units, so instead of 1000, you just put 1. Note:

Oscillator 1 = 1000 = 0.01 lot
Oscillator 10 = 10000 = 0.1 lot

GOLD Oscillator 1 = 1 oz
SILVER Oscillator 1 = 50 oz

FTSE, DOW etc Oscillator 1 = 1

Just to make things easier, but in your case it may have made them a little less apparent.

Yes, that was the issue. I changed the volume to 10 as you suggested and I was able to optimize with that.

I will be testing for the duration of the trial bot, which actually isnt very long to keep testing. I will start a small live account, and a demo account, both with the same pairs, though different starting balance, using same optimization files. Lets see how this turns out. Very excited for this.

Beware that there are a few rules to observe:

 

  1. Optimize 1 or 2 months every Sunday for the week following. Never re-use parameters
  2. Look at the day chart once or twice a day for signs of a blow
  3. Take a loss, but never stop the robot unless a blow has clearly occurred


These rules, followed by the common sense information on cutous.net will put you on the right track.

Thank you for the explanation. The website makes it clearer how to find trends. I hope that you can give a general idea of what the pairs are doing and what to optimize for on this thread so we can all keep learning.

I rather like cAlgo as a trading terminal. Its a shame not too many people on here use it.

I'd like to leave the choice of the pair to the individual, there is plenty to choose from, and plenty that works.

If you're trading volume 10 you need at least 500 GBP capital on your account, trading only one pair. otherwise it will blow your account.

Smaller account, go for icmarkets or fxpro as they do micro lots (volume 1)

If more people knew about cAlgo, they would certainly use it. I don't know how MT4 does with optimization, but cAlgo has managed to optimize here 300 to the power 8 possibilities in less than 6 hours. That's 60 000 000 000 000 000 000 iterations. It's the built in Genetic Algorithm.

The trial is not really meant for the best type of trading, but it works.

With the full version, you get my special tip on the best optimization method, not covered in the video.

The Full oscillator has an even better optimisation engine, which DOUBLES the profit.
