Depending on the opportunities what i see on the chart - sometimes opportunity arise on the hourly, 4h, daily, weekly, or monthly time frames. So take chances at whichever it is

My trading activity can be intense in some days/weeks depending on what I perceive to be the number of potentially predictable profitable opportunities. In other cases, the market is just too volatile for me and as such I decide to stay on the sidelines for a while, but generally, I never go a week without completing at least one trade, and in some days, I can complete as many as five trades.
I normally trade after any volatile news because it takes very little time to stay in the market and the
take profit gets hit quickly. My favorite news is the Non Farm PayRoll and if any country changes its
Interest rates.
Other good news to trade are the US Durable Goods Orders, Retail Sales, FOMC Statements,
most of the Australian News are also very good money makers.
The only problem one will face is the Spread widening by the Brokers.
But there are ways to avoid that.
it really depends on the type of trading you you do. scalpers take lots of trades on a weekly basis. but i do swings and positions on hotforex and thats roughly about 5-10 trades a week, but i do check the charts daily.
I scalp for a living - I trade 50-100 times in 2-5 hours. Always 2 positions at once. That makes 250-500 trades per week.

I know your comment was from a couple weeks ago, so you may not see my reply now. Anyway, I scalp too, though not as actively as you do... but I'm wondering about your "always 2 positions at once" point. I SOMETIMES have 2 or 3 positions open at once, but I don't make any effort to do that... usually just one. So I'm wondering if you have a specific reason for your 2-at-a-time rule.
I average 8 trades per week but only one runs for the entire week or 2. The rest lasts for just 1 day which are mainly from retracements and corrections of the main trade that I have for the week.
It really depend on the market situation and also my own situation. I don't set any quota of how many I need to trade per week or per month. I just trade when I see oportunity coming and I will only trade when I have enough time to observe the price movement. *More trade doesn't mean more profit. Jerome

I am the same way. Whenever I see a setup according to my strategies that I employ, I trade. Sometimes that means multiple trades a day, sometimes that means no trades at all during the day. Just really depends on the strategies that you use and what you see.
For me this is a tricky question because I usually get caught up in looking for the perfect opportunity and miss chances because of that. I must admit I'm overly risk averse and that's why I end up trading much less than I initially planned to. Basically instead of talking myself into trading I talk myself out of it and I don't know if that's a good strategy on the long run if you want to become a trader
been so distracted this week the ave or trades is going down, looking at past couple of weeks im ave abour 3-4 trades a week. man its not easy trading with distractions, one thing i learned is time management.
