I find it useful to know if a trade is above or below an MA like the 240 and make my decision depending where the price is. A find this to be a good filter.
The ability to filter whether a price is above or below a nominated EMA is already built into the EA. Just set UsePriceEMA event to 2 and set the required EMA and that will act a filter with any other strategies.

What I am thinking is to place a buy or sell stop at the change of the PSAR. That would act as a confirmation of the new trend. See the difference on the graphic the buy stop never trigger, while the sell stop is trigger by price action and the new trend is confirm. It will also avoid some pull back that occur before the new trend really establish. In that case (EURUSD - 1H Chart) the stop order can be placed at 15 pips, more or less depending on pair, time frame etc ...

Strategy Optimizer is faster because of an improved genetic algorithm and provides more information and removes the need for tick data back testing.

No!! Nothing to do with that. Please go to Post #1 and do some homework and at least read the last couple of pages.

Traders Gift Strategy Optimizer is a companion program for Traders Gift EA and is designed to make back testing and optimization of the EA much easier and more efficient. It is specifically designed for the EA and is still in beta version.

Your Strategy Optimizer is a wonderful tool! Would you activate the LOAD SET FILE and SAVE SET FILE bottoms available soon? They can save optimized set file easily.

Congratulations for your work, Mr. Dave! I checked various indicators. I noticed that you pay more attention to RSI. MACD indicator earned more than RSI for AUD_USD and NZD_USD pairs. I really appreciate Ichimoku. You may include Ichimoku in StrategyOptimizer?
We are following closely and I wish you strength to work!

Hey Dave,

I love this optimizer. Just tested the latest version. The previous one - when Data Source was selected, it ran to 99% and stopped. Gave it a few min and still did it but I was able to run optimizer.

The new version, I see its bit faster too. Looking forward to being able to pull set file from it. Few issues I saw, sending it through PM.

Also Traders Gift has been updated at Post #1 to include Commodity Channel Index and also the option to place a pending straddle order instead of a buy or sell order. To enable the straddle , as part of your strategy, additionally set UseStraddle = 2 which is the indicator mode. Until I can redo the example files, if you are using existing files, take a paper copy of your settings and press "Reset" on the bottom, right hand corner of the inputs, to accommodate the CCI settings and the changed straddle option.

Thanks Dave I think CCI is a great add on. I invite you to consider adding the option of stop order (may be even stop and limit order). My experience tells me indicators are much better tools when confirmed by price action.
