a smaller position taken on G/N at the turn of the hour (H1 chart). I must add this is a volatile pair where 200-300 pips in either direction is quite common

sorry for the late reply as I overslept. First, nothing has changed with regard to the moving averages. I use the 34 instead of the 50.The basic is very simple. Just look to trade away from the emas. If you are trading towards the emas it's regarded as a counter trend trade (CT).It's a really simple system to use and for someone like me who lacks computer knowledge I would not be able to cope with anything more difficult. Some say you need 10000 hrs of screen time to be a good trader. I would require 20000 hrs as I need 1/2 to learn how to use the computer. Anyway, do you use fxcm TS2 . If you do the indicators are all there. Like I say, nothing's changed. All the best.Just as a matter of interest, I started trading with the 10 and 30 ema on the 5 min. chart before this thread was started

here is g/cad trade which I want to show why this trade was taken. I have marked a vertical line to show the entry. The entry is just after the signal candle (the one before) and you will see the tdi made a cross and was just below the 50 line. The cci also did that. I won't talk about the cci as it is not used on this thread. It's an old habit of mine. The entry was below the 10 and 200 ema and that means I am trading away from these with a short. I reckon good trades or entries happen when taken at a cross just below/above 50 line

g/y daily....the trades were taken on 15 min. but with this in mind. The daily TL was breached and I was waiting for a full candle open/close below. I saw yesterday that it was likely to be the case and hence took the trades. I just don't know what happen as I did not set 1st target at the horizontal orange line..why this line? Well it happens to be the Jan close and feb open candles (monthly candle) If price closes below this line the next target would be the swing low of Feb

I would not take this trade unless you have one further down and was adding position. My preference is to let the tdi drop down below or near the 50 line and only enter when the cross happens there.Anyway , nobody knows how price will move. I am not here to predict, I just follow what the chart tells me..US red news soon. Watch carefully and all the best

You mean green crosses red below 50 level then you buy?

To be safe buy when the tdi moves over the 50 line...but it's no guarantee it works but the probability is higher imo...Please look at price, where it's been ,where it is now at and where you believe price will go with the help of some indicators. But nothing is 100% correct in this game

always advisable to trade away from the ema and if you trade towards it you are trading CT..Nothing wrong with that if you know what you are doing..As this is a trend following system, then trade it the way it should be traded. There's more than enuf pips just following the 10 ema as jeank always say

just look at what you have done if you just traded the cross as shown on your chart. You would have a dd of -50 now. Below is my chart which shows the tdi being rejected at 50 line.That is why I say the 50 line is important, plus the 10 ema is pointing down when you want to go long..It's a No, No. I really have to go bbl

just got in a short while ago and saw what I like. Yes it was a CT but I did get a cross under the 50 line. That's why it did not work out well at the beginning and I did not post it when taken. It's looking good now. Here's my trades e/y with 25% left and g/y with one whole position targeting lower as price is below Jan/feb o/c. Balance of G/cad hit target and G/N (H1 based on daily) slight drawdown. I also have g/u (+50 pips now)

g/y trade on a micro acc. of a relative but I am trading it..a problematic platform which freezes before/during /after red news. I actually set a target for one and closed the other just now. Trading safe with this acc
