Some think that getting promoted to the 2% Club (High Impact) doesn't mean anything, but as for me, by far, I felt that i do have the responsibility to keep my eyes on the lookout and use my knowledge wisely and perhaps, I'd too take on more responsibility using my knowledge and awareness as i go.

Got it. I'm not familiar with the 2% Club or the Impacts or what that even means.

Now you understand why the use of SL is a must (or least have an exit plan, but it requires strong psychology skills)

Everytime i tried to trade without SL, i went lucky a few times before blowing up accounts. I've learnt the lesson

I realised there are more devils than angels in this forum, most of them had their guns loaded to shoot at anyone anytime.

Come on, be more encouraging, we are all trying to rob our brokers, we are all on the same boat.

Btw, his leverage account may flip him up easily if he got on a nice ride of trend. Still too early to sentence him to death.

Last year I remembered, a hard earned 200% - 400% capital gain may top the monthly leader board couple of times, but now, everyone seems to make magic with 4 digits gains.
The only winner is the one who survive the longest...

Famous last trader's word? aka "hopefully?". Shouldn't be part of profitable trader's arsenal. "Coincidence" might save you here and there but relying on it? I myself am learning that there's more to it, more to explore myself, to explore me as a trader. And I'll admit as I was celebrating my equity high and years long milestone with him here..that I did run into old costly/stupid patterns >again<!
So I feel like "back to drawing boards"..and that still hurts a lot especially after all those years of trials and errors..yet it's somewhat different this time after all. I no longer beat myself up that much, I shifted more into acceptance of where I currently am. I perceive it but I no longer take it as personally as before..so at least some shift! Yeah! And I choose to celebrate this milestone instead! Yeah.. I see it as a journey of inner exploration of who am I and why I do what do. And results are not what I want them to be..hmm, how could they if I'd stay the same? Hello, wake up call!

It amazes me how it always seems that one is over it..finally..only to realize soon after that..well,not really. Very humbling, in a good way.

Btw re wild swing:
Reminds me Larry's Williams description of his trading from $10k to $1.4 mil in about a year. He went to $2mil in about 6months then down to $0.7mil (and finished finaly with $1.4mil). He commented that also he likes leverage and can withstand some wild swings..this was way too much. And so he dove into his numbers digging for the root cause and a fellow mathematician told him his MM equation he took from blackjack was erroneous, couldn't be used for trading straight away. That was causing those wild swings and could cause him to go belly up.
So he admitted he was lucky although he did prepared a lot for this and did his homework & stayed focused the entire period.

Hi Plukin:

It's impossible to turn S10K into $1 Million in a year or less without taking huge risks.

But there is risk and risk.

If I start with $10k and use my profits (and my profits only) to aggressively add to winning positions that's excellent (most quick fortunes are made that way in highly leveraged financial instruments like Forex).

On the other hand if I risk that same $10K on one (1) trade that's total stupidity.

A 50% drawdown from your profits that's nothing, if you are shooting for the stars. It's still a loss but it does not hurt that much. A 50% drawdown from your starting capital (in other words your own pocket) that's another story.

I'm not sure if he meant it to come off that way or not, but I see your point. And I think that's one of the biggest problems on this thread: ego trips.

I don't judge people based on their earnings, but do judge them based on their contributions. We can all learn from each other and improve our trading together. There's not enough room on these forums for egos.

Well the world doesnt revolved around you, if you know what I mean. Not everybody is here to teach/share strategies. In this forum there are so many people who are all talk, but have no evidence. Some people may just want to share their achievement to inspire and not knowledge. If you cant find what you are looking for on this thread, then you can always go to another one. Simple. I dont understand why there are so many cry babies here, its embarrassing.

Nope, it does not revolve around me. But I do not really know what you mean. I guess it's cool if someone finds a lot of success and wants to inspire people. But why not just go a step further and help people out? No need to be selfish, but I suppose to each his own.

And the reason I bring this up is because FXSayWhat did bring up the possibility that the forum starter was perhaps planning to sell his "system", which I feel is a legitimate concern (at least move it to the commercial section). This thread could have just been a marketing ploy that failed for all we know.

I agree with this to a point. It's OK to encourage people. At the end of the day, though, people are going to do what they want to do with their money.

I think it's completely backwards to have a goal like: "I'm gonna turn X amount of dollars into $1 million". But some people need to learn that the hard way I suppose.

At any rate, I don't know why things got out of hand so fast on this thread. Can't we all just get along?

Why do you think it is not possible? I agree with your statement if we're talking to make it in a year. But what if we are talking to make it in ten or fifteen years? I find that more realistic.

To answer your question, is a 100K% doable?

I don't know. I have not seen one yet. If you have seen one, please, share your link and enlighten me.

Now let me ask you something. Sure, everyone wants to achieve their goal that no one has ever achieved before, but would he be willing to work harder than anyone else did or done something he has never done before???

8 years into trading FX, 10 years since FF site was built and among the current 330,000 members here, i have NOT seen one who made the 100k%. So what does that tell me? The only thing that is clear to me is the odds making the 100K% and have the care to post his gain on FF is less than 1/330,000 in the past 10 years or so.

That's the fact. Until the first 100K% trader pops his head up, there isn't even a thing called "the theory to the 100K% gain" due to lack of result. Statistics 101. This is important to understand.

So is it possible to do? Sure, anything is possible. The chance you and I become that person is 1 in 330,001 or even greater. That's 0.003%.

Now let me ask you this again: Do you have the iron will to work harder than the existing 330,000 traders on FF? If the answer is Yes, you will get yourself a winnable fight. That's right, a winnable fight only because your odds of success could be well above 1 in a million or billion.

As for people who comes here to impress and seek approval (from the kind who also have false hope in trading) without give himself a chance to learn from the others or letting others to correct his strategy (keep his journal and trade decision secret, only post the gains, such as this thread owner did), what would be his odds of becoming the next 100K%?? You tell me.

As far as I would suggest, I would encourage people stop chatting about how he will make his next 100K% because they talked like they have absolutely no respect to the market. Instead, one needs to do reality face-check very often and work on his fundamentals and consistencies result as his top priority in trading. He can do it on his own, or use the FF and learn from other or let others to help him. One needs to give out something (his strategy) in order to receive something back in exchange (additional ideas or improvement from other experiences traders).

You forgot about the people who just post long paragraphs criticizing others as if they are experts themselves, but have nothing to show, and are just all talk. Some people let this "High impact member 1%" title get to their head, and think they are Forex experts all of a sudden. If you had so much advise to give, why are you not working for Goldman Sachs or JP Morgan. I sure your input would make them billions
