Howzit HighFivve and welcome to the thread,

Colour change on the Moving Averages (MA) is what I use to visually help me identify changes in trend. You will note I only use Range Bar charts to trade. Been doing it for 5+ years now and cannot understand how traders can enter/exit accurately on a candle thats an hour long...

The ADR (Average Daily Range) lines are plotted automatically off the previous 5 days of movement. To explain why you see them 'upside down' on this chart is easy: At the start of the day the lines are equally spaced a distance up/down from the opening price. As price climbs, lets say it moves nicely up to 75% long (green), this means price has already moved a fair bit of its normal distance already, so it has a shorter distance to travel if price starts to fall, so you will see as price climbs, it 'pulls' the lower ADR lines up with it. On BIG days, price goes right through the 100% levels, and this means it continues to drag the lower levels up with it, until they actually pass above the green lines. This is why you see what you do here. Its not unusual.

Howzit guys, except Simtrad, I'm not talking to you today.

It's been a busy morning for me. Got knocked out 3 times by the DAX this morning. The wild swings got me. At least recovered since then and is up a few pips. I'm glad to see that the DAX can also go down. It's been a crazy few days.

In all seriousness, even though you guys have belittled the nation that brought cricket to your fine country, I can't bring myself to support Sri Lanka so I wish SA well. I'm just jealous we are not there

It's all good Simtrad. S.A have what it takes to beat Sri Lanka. Let's hope for the best. I'll have a early start tomorrow to watch the game and will definitely be late for work.

as far as the color MA I was wondering the settings...

and do you think a static 50% 75% 100% ADR fib pull would work as pivot points ? since I don"t have e-signal\ I can't adjust them..
also have you traded ADR % on a weekly chart ..AWR ?

Its seldom kind if you don't concentrate on it and devastatingly punishing if you look away.

Unfortunately the 'discomfort' from this morning has stayed with me and I have not enjoyed my trading today, despite ending with more than +150 on the DAX. Isn't it funny how much of a head game this stuff is some days?!

ALSI: I haven't actually looked at this chart live today, with trading focussed on the DAX but it looks like it was a fair day. I must admit I am really quite pleased to have JimmyC contributing as it provides another insight and more info is always welcome. At a glance it looks like it also would have likely given me quite a beating to start off with, with 3 clear losers but it too has followed with much smoother GMMA's and great entry and exit zones evident.

Thanks for the update HP. Yeah the DAX beat me up again this morning. I had 4 losses in a row to start my day. I've manged to win all my losses back and a bit more as the day went on. Psychology is the most important factor after a solid system. It is amazing how our perception can change due to our performance during the day. I've made a habit of it to keep a trade journal to record my thinking. You've came on top today so well done.

Coming on top on days like these, HAS to be THE game changer... at least in my books. I have often fallen by the wayside and picking myself up and joining the race is easier said than done. The psychological aspect is often (rightly) quoted to be the most influential factor in determining our longevity in this business.

So... very well done!
