The price action and downward sloping 10EMA are right for an entry, but you took the trade towards the 200EMA, not away from it. Price was also quite close leaving little room to get a decent R:R. Looks like price took a firm bounce off the 200 and hasn't looked back.

If you check the other higher TF's you'll see both daily and 4H are bullish, so a short on thsi pair would certainly be classed as counter-trend. CT trades are OK, for those with greater experience & confidence to take them ( I am not including myself!). To my eye a perfect example of a CT trade was around 23 candles earlier, where price closed through a BRN and the 10EMA in the same candle and TDI green hooked down under red.

It's very easy to analyse these trades after the event, so please don't take my comments as anything but constructive, we're all here to learn.

It's great to see this thread come back to life, I was around when it went crazy hundreds and hundres of pages ago and for reasons I cannot remember deviated away from this method and obviously failed, so am now back with it, working hard to pick the right trades and get some consistency.

Hi X-man. As a new member my posts have to be verified before being visible so its easier for me to tell you that the setup, in my opinion, was formed in the last 15 minutes of the chart.Tell me your opinion.
just following the 10 ema...enter after the candle broke thru' the 200 and 10 ema after testing the 34..had taken 1/2 out with the rest at b/e

Hi Tulis , thanks again to be there . We are here to learn. PUT THE 50 EMA ON YOUR 15MN template and go to the 5 mn you will see why the price stop at 1.4769. Support becoming resistance at 1.4769 + confluence. And when london began they were buying around this level. Easy to explain after the fact , but we are to learn, right ?

Always ask yourself which of the market trend you want to trade.
Trade away from the 50EMA and away from the 200EMA. Make sure there is room for quick TP of at least 20 pips.

I see some potential opportunities to trade GBPUSD M15 this week.
We need to be patient and wait for the price action to show us the way.
Always pay attention to the H1 and H4.

Two trades done Tokyo open.
Both are bearish price price patterns seen moving away from the 200EMA, 50EMA with the TDI confirming the momentum.

Yes and I still believe that if a person puts his mind to this forex he can do it.
It gets easier and easier
We just have to have patience and push forward.
But we have to push forward in the right direction.

Its like opening a door. If the sign on the door says pull then no matter how much we push it wont open.
We will get exhausted and quit.
But if we just pull the door it will open with the least amount of effort.

Keep the trading as simple as possible.
The cleaner and simpler the charts then better WE SEE
