Hello All, I have one question please, I see a lot of goal projects on FF, I want to know if anybody has been able to achieve any of such goal projects in the past, anybody at all on FF.

Started my own trading journal ( http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=529796 )against my better judgement. As most trading journals are without the trade explorers. Well, just want to see how far I can go in making one million dollars, since I have more than cover my initial deposit. It may end up in blaze of glory.
Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Bravo...one of the most sensible posts I've seen in a long, long time. Aiming for a (for example) 1:1 or 1:2 or whatever R:R is all well and good, but hanging onto a trade until it get's to the target can be a recipe for disaster. Take what the market is prepared to offer you and be satisfied with that....irrespective of the R:R. Profit is what matters....and not much else.

Oh man...Can't agree more with the R:R

Waiting for your TP (so it can be in line with your R:R) lead to losses, eventually account blown up, Been there, done that.

Better take the profit when it comes, accordingly to your plan obviously

Why not pay yourself as the markets makes money available to you. RR is on of the cute theories about investing but in the Currency market you need to bend the rule because the market owes you nothing. A proper RR ratio is not always guaranteed. When i realised this, i came a step closer to consistency. I would hold on to trades and sit out till price misses my target by a few pips and watch in disbelief as it goes down towards my entry level back. My Fx coach calls it "Systematic Profit taking." Then i discovered how to pay myself and never let a winner turn to a loser. So now if price rallies into half of my profit target, i close half lot and move my stop to break even. i also trail my stop with 15-20 pips too so as to scrape off whatever is left of an intraday price move if i want to leave the pc. By the end of the day and week , i looked at my account and i saw tiny profits were building up. i incorporated this strategy into my system.

These types of project pop up once in a while and they always end up the same way.
The bottom line is that it is not possible to make consistent profit in the forex.
But it's fun trying (:

Tim hasn`t left town! Tim has only found that to succeed he has to stick to trading currencies not trading words with people who either don`t know what they want from life or how to get it.

quite a number of us are overusing this forum and forgetting our biznez is to trade.And there`s a thick cloud of negativity in here,I wonder why some of these guys took to trading in the first place.The sad thing is,like chicken pox,negativity is contagious.guard against it.

being consistent is possible its just not easy.. Here is a colorful metaphor lol. I just watched "edge of tomorrow" the other day and its basically if you can learn the avoid the traps you already know are there and I guess not join Scientology too then you can be consistent, the problem it takes time to map out the traps and avoid falling into them.

U can make consistent profits in trading but not every time will d market favour you so u need to minimize ur losses and u dont feel pressured to deliver or to impress. If u understand the nature of the markets, you would know that these "millionaire projects" are possible if u give urself a reasonable time and completely focus on trading and not forum posts. I have read on CNN money where a penny stock trader turned $1,500 into $1million in 3 years or so. He was a student of Timothy Sykes. Even in Forex , there is a trader who turn $2,000 into $200,000 in 2years. But if u want to grow $500 to $1m in a year? Sounds like a feat for a Trading contest. The market humbles us all at one point or another and we learn from it. Its better Tim makes his quest private no matter how long it takes him to achieve his goal. The thread thing is just a distraction he cannot afford. just my opinion anyway.

of course it is possible to turn 500 into 1mio in forex!

it doesnt matter if its in 6month or 2 years, it is possible and few fellows have done this and are doing it.

and tim has a big chance, if he has the self confidence to ignore "its not possible" stuff.
