ALSI 40 Index - Trading the South African All Share Index

Morning all!
I'm drawing my setups now, will begin to share the activities shortly.

Long signal now.
Bit iffy between 46,860 and 46,770.

I just took the long and got a fill at 46,836. If you can better this (like right now as price has fallen!) you can join me.

Put a stop in at 46,787.

ORANGE is my price i got in, blue arrow is my actual bar i acted on. Still plenty good prices at this level for the buy/long.

No problem, as soon as I get back to my PC at home I will make a few screenshots and share.

I rarely trade the ALSI live. Reason being I am "perfecting" my strategy on MT4. I work during the day and only trade during my spare time. So the EA's I am busy developing for hte ALSI I try and make full proof so that they can run on their own with minimal interference from me.

I do trade DJI and NASDAQ in the evening on my live account with good results. (also using Renko with mix of EMA's)

Problem is you need a fair bit of cash in your traders account to be able to trade the ALSI. I believe the minimum amount per point at IG is R4. But if you look at how the ALSI jumps up and down you need quite a bit of cash to absorb potential losses.

We have a descending triangle formed. Bias is long, I am going to stay in. (Ha, this does happen quickly I am trying to type and trade!)
We have just moved into profit.
46,860 is a key level on yesterdays high, if it breaks up I will stay in, if I see it bounce (again) I will consider taking the break even.

Big adjustment in Point of Control. Price volume has lifted to where it is now. Again, this isn't great support for the long I am in, but I am +14 up so in no pain.
I'm ok with price dropping to 46,818 in a pull back. Its a very shallow one (the chart is snoozy this morning!) but I really want to see it hop from there, or if it doesn't I'll kill it.

This is how I have it on DEMO.Spreads range from 10 - 32 from what I have seen

Ok its hit that lower 818 level. if it doesn't climb from here, I will accept a small loss or a break even. Critical next 3-4 minutes...

I agree but will be looking at the ALSI for a bit the DAX should be much better with a fixed spread of 10 after LO.

Still I am trading my beloved EJ with a spread of max 1.2 pips normally about 0.7

For now Demo and looking at it thats all as I trade EJ at the same time and monitir my swings sytem as well so dont want my trading to suffer because I have tried trading more than 1 instrument in the past on my 1min system and it a bit manic yet that was about 8 months ago so might be easier now

I have blacked out the actual balances in my account, I don't want to be called rude words! But here is the +44 I am on along with the clear margin call that is made at 1 lot.
I usually trade at 5-ish but for this thread to share and discuss I am sticking with entry level levels.

Ah - Glad to see an ALSI thread pop up here!
Will watch with interest although I mainly trade the DAX.

Still +22, no signs of 'traffic' between where we are now and 46,930, where I expect lots of action.
I can stay in, I have moved my stop to BE +5 (just so I didn't waste my time) and now I wait.

Have you in the past traded the ALSI rather than the DAX or never ?

Our pro team trades the DAX. If I get enough interest, I shall be happy to do this on the DAX. We can get a very respectable 50-80 per day out of it. Please PM or respond in the thread if you want me to spend some time on it?

My live trade is still +24. I am getting great compression on the Guppy's and the price is right at the 300 EMA. its either going to fall on its tit, or be an explosive move. I want +80 or +5.

Right, my MA crossover has painted yellow. My system is telling me the move is over. Since I'm a cheeky git I am still holding the correct side of the trade, the POC has climbed to above my entry so I am comfortable to hold. If this collapses and I make +5, I only have myself to blame but I'm here to trade.
