Rubbish trolling.

There is volume in Forex, it's quite undeniable really. There is an indicator on every platform that tells you the volume of ticks each candle experienced. That is volume, a volume of ticks.

So yes, there certainly is volume in FX.

I have question about indicators. What settings you use on DBPL ? And you indicator "chart mode" is Williams %36 with -50 level ? Thank you.

Climaxes, shakouts, springs, tests, etc... can occur over multiple bars and should not be confined to one bar alone. Learn the formation, not the bar. HTH
exactly this shakeout is killing me, I just have to convince myself this is shakeout or mebbe tis not, go back to reading text books & end up getting more confused.

can anyone please clear what is that bar there, thank you.

Thats a tricky one! Always best to look at the bigger picture and there seems to be rejection of the higher levels with large volume, hence sellers coming in. That bar could be large interests attempt to mark down the price but there was still demand in the picture hence the high volume and mid close on the bar. Demand was eventually absorbed by the sellers.

Interested to hear others take on it though?

If you arent sure you can always mark off the high/low and watch how price reacts. (Your volume feed looks better than FXCM in this case, FXCM the highest volume bar was 2 bars before yours and makes the pair look weak)

I marked your bar in white..

The red bar comes up to the bottom of your bar with low volume, if you shorted this you would have been stopped out. Now look at the green bar how it tested the high of your bar, if you would have taken this it would have made up for the previous loss and then some.

On a side note look at the day before and how it reacted to the HV bar from the previous day.

Firstly i'd say try not to get too bogged down in single bars. It's all about the bigger picture and how it may or may not react to this area/zone.

This is the Sierra view on the subject. The higher volume is two bars before as well, much like SimpleDev's chart. It's worth noting that the higher volume bar comes at 13:30 (GMT) which is when there was a US news announcement. I know EUR/NZD aren't USD but this is a good indicator of what sparked the increase in volume without needing to look at the whys.

There was even a nice PnF entry as it broke the high of the black zone.

If you've found a setup and got in and then get stopped out by a shakeout. Do you then get back on the horse and get back into the trade post-shake out in your original direction at a new better price?

I put a stop in a place I dont think it will be hit, if it gets hit then i was wrong and move on to the next setup.

I did away with the 50% and I dont go back as far as you do.. Just because I would confuse myself.

Truth be told, I wouldn't normally trade into the low of a zone like that with higher volume, but there was enough space between the high of the black zone and low of the orange zone to at least reach 1:1 so i'd take it on that basis and see if it then runs on to the target.

Hi ZD, is this a hypothetical question or do you perhaps have a chart as an example? Just wondering have you had a trade where this happened?
