Hi Ty, i have a question...look at this chart: the 3 entries would have been winners with an hard SL of 10 , but 3 losers with low risk trades...
So the question is: Am i only saying BS because on the long run 10 pips SL would produce more bad than benefits..or sometimes is good to also let the trade breath a bit... thanks

First of all its not 3 trades, if any no more than one unless you totally disregard the one trade in hr per direction rule.The stop placement is more of a risk management and psychological issue than anything else. It creates comfort and freedom for the mind to actually last to even perform the plan.In details; once you go 0-3 for -30 is way different than 0-3 for -15.. mind realizes the depth of the hole, the bigger the more prussure and higher chance of messing up.The greatest mistakes by retail traders is that they only and firstly see things in terms of profit rather than losses. How much I can profit!! And not, how much I can lose!!... It's about managing your losses well... profitability will take care of its own. PA/Market is made to deceive... chart shows a lot of tasty opportunities for profit but not easy to always capture it.. that is why a professional wise trader uses a trading plan and goes by structure of some kind and sticks with it to build discipline and habit, a routine which would lead to the eventual consistency. So, block the lure, charts pzas, tempting opportunities and stick to your trading plan as your only edge in the market. At least thats what I come out with.Cheers,

Actually the point of how much can i lose...instead of how much can i gain is really a good one... and even if i am sure you already mentioned it ,here somewhere...( this thread start to be big....) it was a good remind for me...
