DislikedHey guys, Great system yall are trading with here. I am currently working out the best way to adapt to how I am looking to trade the markets. Any ways just wanted to share some info with you guys in regards to the R:R we are using, Spread and Commission. These stats are based off of FXCM Spread and Commission Structure. GBPJPY has an avg spread of 1.2 and .80 round trip fee for 10,000 units. So a round trip cost a total of $2.00 So say I am risking 10 pips to make 5 Pips with my SL and TP. I am really Risking 12 Pips for 3, after spread and commission....Ignored
Small spreads and/or lower commissions are an important aspect of this strategy. This is also one of the reasons why exotic currency pair are not encouraged.
Regarding Udine, i have read him reply that he kept his TP and SL fixed at 5 & 10 respectively. If you study his charts from the beginning you will see it clearly. Personally, i am also keeping them fixed because i am still learning the system and until i have 300/400/500 trades under my belt i won’t have enough data to tweak my exits for increased efficiency. Until that time, i know that 5 & 10 are proven to work so that is what i will use to learn.
Udine and other senior members have made more specific comments regarding R:R and this specific strategy in the past that you can search for, but from what i can remember off the top of my head you should look into the strike rate of this strategy and what percent is required to BE & start profiting. My personal opinion is that strike rate is essential whenever making R:R considerations. Also note that one of the best ways to keep your strike rate high (in WUKAR 00-level) is only take two trades at the recommended times, recommended pairs, within all the other rules, per day. The two trade rule seems to be the one most broken, especially by newbies, and it can have a significant impact on the bottom line.
Many people have posted weekly stats in the past and that gives a good idea of what is possible.
Hope this helped in some way.
Happy pipping,
N.
