What is the Timeframe for Continuous straddle set files?

Advice RKKGS, use one indicator with onefilter at a time, do not load up the system with filters and indicators, and changing lots of factors.

Go one at a time on a chart. For example I am just using the RSI cross on the AUD M15 and M60 charts with nothing else and i had profit yesterday.

The only thing that hurt yesterday was the large bets against the USD on all pairs.

What was your losing pair? and please post a screen shot of chart so we can see how to help you

Please do some homework before you post. I have covered this question at least twice. _15 in filename means 15 min, _1 means 1 min, _60 means 60min.

very sorry to hear about your losses on this system. I looked it over and it seems that you used the NZD/USD pair on the M15 with the PSAR with ADX is that correct?

I would strongly recommend that you BACKTEST everything before you go live with a trade. I did a quick backtest on using what Dave discusses in post i think #185 and to optimize a pair with a preset and filter. I got a negative result for use that filter.

I did a quick change and did the same test on the H1 and the results were positive.

If you have a demo please use that first before going live to understand what everything does. Also please update to the lastest EA as this gives better information. I attached my screen as it stands right now just to give you an idea of what i look at (please do not take this as the best strategy but there are different time frames on there).

its all about finding the right strategy for each pair.. depending on the market type at the moment.. not every pair works with the same settings.
You need to back-test all the time & if the market type changes, you may need to adjust your EA.

See below I have been very profitable with the continuous straddle, but with a minor tweak..

This morning I made a few small tweaks and the change is going to Post #1

The changes are -
Fixed problem with maintaining break even SL value.
Allowing time of day filter on continuous straddle

Alex - I have left the max 20% of equity cap for wager size as a general protection but if you or anybody else wants to remove this cap

Find the following comment in the code (3 places)
// Cap on Consecutive Stop Losses

and alter the number 20 to whatever you want in the following 6 lines or for no protection just delete the 6 lines and recompile.

My own personal opinion is that any modification is a recipe to blow your account as per Martingdale.

I am not Dave, but (in my opinion) it's the best in a sideways market or during big news.

Measures the high and low and looks for a breakout above (long trade) or below (short trade) those levels.

continuous just means this keeps going and recalculating throughout

I set one up this morning on the ADP numbers on an EU chart and made a little profit on it.

Been testing your EA for sometime now and at the moment i thought i would load one of your .set files

When backtested over a month it only places 7 trades which is low considering its a pretty tight constant straddle strategy here are a few of the trades

I then checked the jounal and there was loads of these errors

Also using the Multipliers shouldnt the lot size increase after a losing trade

Hi Swimmax

I am testing UJ pair with PSAR/ADX set on M15. My platform throw this error "2015.02.05 15:18:29.146 '12432712': order buy 1.87 USDJPY opening at market sl: 0.000 tp: 0.000 failed [Off quotes]
"
Literally no trade was open. Is there something I have not done right. The set use is the same setup as your test.

If you load the latest build uploaded about 10 hours ago, you should find your problems are resolved. Also I have now just uploaded the latest preset files as a zip.

Dave thank you for yoour clarification but my intention was to decrease that number to 10 - 15 % percent noway to increase i am not i casino player. I just don't need 12 consecutive trades because in my opinion if you get 12 consecutive losing trades somethingis wrong with your stategy or better take i break and do some homework with your losing strike in order to find what is going on because if you do it once and keep doing the same it is matter of time to repeat the same mistaked.

Anyway i am very thankful to you my friend good trading.
